How does static cling stick without adhesive, and where does it work best?

Static cling clings to smooth, non-porous surfaces using natural static — no glue, no residue, no damage. It works best indoors on glass (windows, doors, mirrors), smooth metal (refrigerators, appliances), and acrylic — it goes on in seconds and peels off cleanly whenever you want. Outdoor use is possible on protected surfaces (shaded windows, covered displays), but heavy wind and rain can lift the edges over time, so for fully-exposed outdoor signage we recommend our custom vinyl stickers instead.

Can static cling be removed and reused?

Yes — that's the main advantage over adhesive vinyl. You can peel it off, reposition it, store it flat between two sheets of paper, and reuse it later. White cling vs clear cling — which one should I pick?

Clear cling lets the surface behind show through — best when you want the design to float on a window without blocking the view. White cling has a solid white film backing — best when you want bold, opaque graphics that read clearly even with bright light behind them. White is the standard choice for storefront signage, clear is best for decorative window decals.

What's mirror printing — when do I need it?

Mirror printing flips your design horizontally, so it reads correctly from the OTHER side of the glass. If your decal will be applied to the inside of a window and read from outside (storefront, car windshield from outside), you need it printed mirrored. We'll confirm the orientation during the proof — just let us know which side it's going on.

How do I install a static cling decal?

Installation is simple and takes 2-3 minutes. Start with a thoroughly clean surface — glass, mirror, refrigerator, or any smooth non-porous surface. This is the most important step: static cling material attracts dust easily, and even small particles prevent it from clinging evenly. Lightly mist the surface with plain water from a spray bottle (no glass cleaner — residue blocks the cling), and add a few drops of water on the printed side of the decal too. Place the decal on the wet surface while it's still slick so you can slide it gently into position. Once positioned, smooth from the center outward using a soft squeegee or any soft flat tool (a small applicator squeegee from Amazon works perfectly, or a credit card wrapped in a soft cloth). Push water and air bubbles toward the edges as you smooth. Once the water dries, the cling sets in place. Pro tip: the wet method is the secret to a smooth, bubble-free result — without water the cling can grab too quickly and trap air pockets.
