How to get it right
Sizing for tubes and head badges
Down tubes and top tubes are long and narrow, so a rectangle cut to the tube's actual width — often somewhere around 2 inches by 6 inches — sits flatter than a square sticker that overhangs the edges. Head tubes and seat tubes curve more sharply, so a smaller die-cut, sized to follow the logo's own outline instead of a fixed square or circle, wraps cleaner around the curve. Measure the flattest section of the tube before ordering, and leave a small margin on each side so the edge of the sticker isn't the first thing to catch on a bag strap or a gloved hand. A custom die-cut costs the same as a plain square or circle, so there's no reason to compromise the shape to fit the frame.
Ordering for a shop, club or team
A bike shop putting its name on demo bikes, a club marking bikes for a group ride, or a team printing the same logo for every rider all need more than one or two stickers, and reordering mid-season is a hassle if the first batch runs short. Order past the exact headcount — extra riders join late, a frame gets repainted, or someone wants a spare for a helmet or a car window. Since every shape prints at the same price, a shop can put a small die-cut on the head tube and a larger rectangle on the down tube from the same order instead of ordering two separate designs. Keep the artwork file so the next season's reorder matches exactly.
What frame builders put on a down tube
A frame builder's maker's mark is usually the smallest, most permanent sticker on the whole bike — a die-cut in the exact shape of a logo, placed on the down tube or seat tube where a buyer will see it every ride. Because the vinyl is laminated and waterproof, it holds up through rain and road grime the same way the rest of the frame does, and the permanent adhesive means it won't lift at the edges after a wash. Builders who want the mark to disappear into the paint rather than sit on top of it should keep the die-cut tight to the logo's outline rather than leaving a visible sticker border around it.
Questions people ask about these
How can I make custom stickers for my bike?
Upload your logo or artwork, choose a size and shape — including a custom die-cut around the design's own outline — and we send a free digital proof before anything prints.
How do I get a sticker onto a curved tube without bubbles?
Clean the tube with a dry cloth, peel back one end of the liner, anchor that edge and press toward the other end along the length of the tube, smoothing as you go. A narrower sticker follows the curve with less effort than a wide one.
Can I put a sticker on my bike frame without damaging the paint?
We can't speak to every paint or clear coat, but the adhesive is a permanent vinyl adhesive, so removing it later may leave a mark or take some of the top layer of a delicate finish with it.
Will a bike sticker survive rain and sweat?
Yes — the vinyl is laminated and waterproof, so it's built for wet rides and repeated wipe-downs.
Will the sticker scratch off where a lock or bag rubs?
Any sticker wears where metal rubs it every day. Keep it off the spot where the lock or a frame bag strap sits, and it will last as long as the paint around it.
Can I order a small head-tube badge and a long down-tube strip together?
Yes. Set up each size as its own item in the cart; both can use the same artwork.
Will I see a proof before I pay?
Yes, for most files. Upload your design and the proof appears on screen in seconds, with the cut line, at the size and shape you chose - before you pay. If a file needs a designer's eye, we email the proof instead, and changes are free until it is right. Nothing prints until you approve it.
