How to get it right
Growlers, kegs and the cooler behind the bar
These are three different problems. A growler shoulder is curved and narrow: 3" die-cut sits on it, 4" starts to lift at the edges. A keg collar is flat and gets handled, washed and stacked, so it wants the biggest size the flat area allows - usually 4". The cooler and the ice tub are the wet test, and the reason we print these on laminated vinyl rather than paper stock: the print does not cloud and the edges do not curl in standing water.
Cut to the outline, not to a square
Most brewery marks are already a shape - a badge, an animal, a hop cone - and a square sticker around one of them looks like a placeholder. Die cut follows your own outline at no extra cost, because shape does not change what we charge. The one thing to watch is a thin tail or a spike in the artwork: anything narrower than about an eighth of an inch is fragile once it is a physical edge, and the free proof is where we flag it.
What to hand out, and what to keep behind glass
Giveaway runs and merch runs are priced differently by quantity, so order them as separate items rather than one large batch: a few hundred 3" die-cuts for the bar, and a smaller run in holographic for the shelf if you want the release to look like an edition. Holographic is the one material here that reads as special without changing the design, and the shimmer does not show on a digital proof - it is a physical effect on the film itself.
Questions people ask about these
Will these survive in an ice bin?
The printing does. Laminated vinyl is waterproof and does not cloud or bleed in standing water, which is why the same material goes on water bottles. Apply it to a dry, clean surface first - adhesive that is asked to grab wet glass never bonds properly, however waterproof it becomes afterward.
What size for a growler?
Three inches. The shoulder of a growler curves in two directions at once, and 3" is about the largest flat-enough area before the edges start to lift. On the flat body panel you can go to 4" or 5".
Can you print bottle and can labels?
Labels for cans and bottles are a different product - roll labels, which come on a roll for fast application. These die-cut stickers are for taproom, merch and promotional use. Order the one that matches the job rather than trying to make one do both.
Do holographic stickers cost more than standard vinyl?
They are priced as their own product and take two business days in production rather than shipping the next business day. Configure them on the holographic page to see the exact price for your size and quantity.
Will a sticker come off a customer laptop or car without wrecking it?
The adhesive is permanent, so it is designed to stay. It lifts with patience and gentle heat and may leave residue that comes off with isopropyl alcohol. If what you want is something removable by design, that is not this material.
How fast can we get a run before an event?
White vinyl ships the next business day after you approve the free proof, and US shipping is free with 3-5 business days in transit. Holographic and clear add a day in production. Count the proof day in when a release date is fixed.
