How to get it right
Priced to give away, not to sell
Stickers on a merch table earn their money indirectly: they go home with people who did not buy the shirt and they end up on a laptop in front of somebody else. That makes quantity the important number rather than size, and it is why bands usually order one design in the hundreds rather than three designs in the dozens - the price per sticker falls steeply as a single run gets bigger.
Where band stickers end up living
Guitar cases, laptop lids, water bottles and the back of a phone, in roughly that order - all surfaces that get handled, packed and rained on. Laminated vinyl is waterproof and holds its color outdoors for years, which is the difference between a sticker that is still legible on a case two tours later and one that has gone chalky. Matte suits illustrated artwork; glossy makes flat color and heavy black look denser.
Mailing stickers with orders and to a list
A 3" sticker slipped into a record mailer costs almost nothing to post and is the cheapest thing a band can add to an online order. If you send them on their own, keep the design under 4" so it fits a standard envelope flat, and remember that anything die cut with a thin spike in the outline is the part that bends in transit - the free proof is where we point that out before it is printed.
Questions people ask about these
What size should band stickers be?
Three inches is the standard and the one most orders use. Four inches if the logo carries readable type; 2" only if they are going inside small mailers rather than onto a merch table.
Can you cut the sticker to the shape of our logo?
Yes - that is what die cut means, and shape does not change the price. Send artwork with a transparent background and we cut to the outline. Very thin spikes and tails are the one thing to watch, and the proof shows you exactly where the cut will fall.
Are holographic band stickers an option?
Yes, as a separate product. Holographic vinyl shifts rainbow in the light and is usually used for a limited run rather than the main giveaway. The effect is physical and does not appear on a digital proof, so the proof shows the artwork, not the shimmer.
Will they survive on a water bottle or a guitar case?
Yes. Laminated waterproof vinyl handles washing, rain and sunlight, which is why the same material goes on water bottles and hard hats. On a textured or rubberised case, press the whole sticker down rather than just the middle.
Can we put our streaming links on the sticker?
A short handle works at 3". A full set of platform URLs does not - it turns into gray lines at arm length. A QR code is the usual answer, and at 3" there is room for the logo and a code of about an inch square, which is around the smallest that scans reliably.
How fast can we get them before a tour?
