A permanent bumper sticker is a real commitment on a car someone leases, a company vehicle, or a spouse's car they share. A static cling asks for none of that: it holds to clean glass with no adhesive, so there is nothing to scrape off a leased car. The same logic applies off the road - a homeowner who wants a front window to show support, or a small office that is not ready to put a sign in the yard, can use the same cling on the glass instead. It comes down as easily as it goes up.
Mirror printing: why inside the glass works better
This page is built around mirror printing: the design is flipped so it reads correctly to the cars and people outside once it is mounted on the inside of the glass. Mounting inside keeps the cling out of rain, road grime and the brush at a car wash, all of which reach anything stuck to the outside of a window. It also means removal happens easily from inside the car, not as a roadside job in traffic. For a home or office window, the same logic holds: mount it inside, facing out, and the street reads it exactly as designed.
Sizes for a car window and sizes for a home window
Cling sizes are set by the longer side, and this page uses three of them. Eight inches is the size for a car's side or rear window - big enough to read at a glance, small enough to leave the rest of the glass clear for visibility. For a home, 12 inches suits a single front window and 18 inches covers a larger picture window or a storm door. The minimum order is one, and each pack holds a single artwork, so a household ordering both a car cling and a window cling places two items. Will a campaign cling stay on the glass?
It holds by static to clean, smooth glass - no adhesive involved. Wash the window, let it dry, and press the cling flat from the center out. Mounted on the inside, it stays away from the wash brush and the weather.
Can it go on the outside of the window instead?
We print this design mirrored for the inside of the glass, which keeps it out of rain and away from a car wash brush while it still reads correctly from outside. Normal printing for outside mounting is available too, though glass on the outside gets more weather and wash exposure over time.
Does a cling leave residue on the glass?
No. There is no adhesive at all, so it holds and releases with nothing left behind - no marks, no film, nothing to clean off a leased car, rental property, or office window.
Can I fit two candidates or messages on one order?
One artwork per pack. If you want two different designs - two candidates, English and Spanish, a car version and a window version - place them as two separate items, each with its own proof.
How many can I order?
The minimum is one, so a single cling for your own car or window is a normal order. A volunteer team handing them out together usually takes 25; set the quantity to whatever the campaign needs.
Are there rules about putting a sign on a car window?
Rules on window signs vary by state, and keeping the driver's view clear is generally expected. Beyond that we do not advise - check your state's rules before you order. We print exactly what you approve.
