How to get it right
One family look across jar, dropper and pump
A skincare line sells as a set, so the labels have to look related before anyone reads them. Keep the logo, the typeface and the position of the product name the same on every size, and let only the proportions change. Each size is a separate item in the cart, so the jar label can be one size and the dropper label another, each with its own quantity and its own proof to approve. When one product sells faster than the rest, reorder that label alone and leave the others untouched. The proof shows the cut line on every size, so you can compare the whole set before anything prints.
Small labels need honest type
On a dropper bottle the label is small, and thin lettering is the first thing to disappear. Pick a weight that stays solid at a small size, keep strong contrast between the letters and the background, and leave a margin so the cut never touches a letter. Print your file on paper at the real size before you order; if you can read it at arm's length, it will read on a shelf. The smallest custom size is 1 x 2 inches, and a circle starts at 2 x 2 inches. A shape that suits a curved bottle, such as an oval, costs the same as a rectangle.
Wet hands, bathroom shelves and labeling rules
Skincare lives beside sinks and showers. The laminate over the vinyl is waterproof, so splashes do not soak the print, and a smear of cream wipes away with a cloth. Apply the label to a clean, dry, smooth surface and press from the center outward. What size label fits a skincare jar?
Start with 2 x 3 inches for the front of a standard jar, then measure the flat part of your jar and leave a small margin. A label that crosses the curve at the edge can wrinkle, so keep it within the flat panel. If your design needs another size, enter it in the calculator; custom sizes start at 1 x 2 inches.
Can I order the same design in different sizes for my whole line?
Yes. Every size is its own item in the cart with its own quantity, so a jar label, a dropper label and a pump label can sit in one order. Each one gets its own free proof.
Will lotion or water damage the label?
The laminate is waterproof, and a smear of lotion wipes off with a cloth. Put the label on a clean, dry surface so it bonds well.
Matte or glossy for skincare labels?
Both cost the same. Matte reads as soft and clean; glossy makes color look deeper. If you cannot decide, choose one finish for the whole line so the products match.
Do I have to print an ingredient list on the label?
