How to get it right
Where these stickers actually go
These are made for the outside of things that go through a wash: a reusable tumbler, an insulated water bottle, a lunch box, a reusable cup, or a food container - always the outside surface, never in contact with food itself. The laminate that makes a sticker dishwasher safe is the same laminate that makes it waterproof, so a design that survives a wash cycle also survives a rainy walk to the bus stop.
Apply it right, and give it a day before the first wash
Clean and dry the surface before you apply the sticker - oils and condensation are what keep an adhesive from bonding fully. Press the whole sticker down firmly, not just the center, working outward toward the edges so no corner is left loose. Then give it a full day before its first trip through the dishwasher; the adhesive needs that time to cure. The top rack is the gentler choice in general, since it sees less direct heat and water pressure than the bottom rack does.
Name labels for kids' water bottles
A classroom set of water bottles is a common order: one small sticker design printed in quantity, then a name added to each one - except that each different name is technically its own design with its own free proof. Rounded corners, the shape this page opens with, sit flat on a curved bottle and are less likely to snag and peel at a sharp corner than a square sticker would.
Questions people ask about these
Will these stickers really survive the dishwasher?
Yes. The laminated vinyl is built to go through wash after wash without the print lifting or fading, the same lamination that makes the sticker waterproof.
Top rack or bottom rack?
Either works, but the top rack is gentler in general - less direct heat and water pressure than the bottom rack sees over repeated washes.
How long should I wait before the first wash?
About a day. Apply the sticker to a clean, dry surface, press it down firmly from the center outward, and let the adhesive cure for a full day before it meets water.
Do these work on insulated water bottles?
Yes - insulated bottles are a common surface for this sticker. Clean and dry the outside before applying, and it holds through daily washing.
Can I print a different name on each kid's bottle?
Yes. Every different name is its own design with its own free proof, even when a whole class orders together in one batch.
What is the smallest order I can place?
Ten per design, whether that design is a logo or a single child's name. A classroom set or a family of water bottles usually lands around 50.
Will I see a proof before I pay?
Yes, for most files. Upload your design and the proof appears on screen in seconds, with the cut line, at the size and shape you chose - before you pay. If a file needs a designer's eye, we email the proof instead, and changes are free until it is right. Nothing prints until you approve it.
