How to get it right
One shared design for every member shop
The point of a shop local sticker is that it looks the same on every counter in town. A shopper who sees the same green circle on a boutique's paper bag, a bakery's box and a bookstore's receipt starts to notice the pattern: these shops belong together. Put the district name and one simple mark on it, such as a clock tower, a river bend or a maple leaf. The association pays for one run and splits the stack, or sells packs to members. Because the circle is a simple shape, the artwork stays easy to read even at a small size.
Members' own logos as separate lines
Some shops also want a sticker with their own logo beside the shared one. Each of those is its own design and its own line in the cart, with its own quantity and its own free proof, so a member can order theirs on the same visit without touching the association's order. Nothing in one run changes: every sticker in a design prints the same. If the association has a special design for a holiday market or a gift-guide weekend, add it as one more line and keep the standard circle for the rest of the season.
Timing: the shop-small Saturday and the holidays after it
The busiest stretch for local shops starts with the shop-small Saturday after Thanksgiving and runs through the holidays. Stickers ship the next business day after you approve the proof, then travel by USPS in about 3 to 5 business days, so approve in early November to have them handed out well before the rush. Order enough for the whole district plus a margin for late joiners and a few extra for the information table. If the run sells through in December, the same approved file can be reordered, and larger quantities lower the cost per sticker.
Questions people ask about these
What size shop local sticker works on paper bags and boxes?
Three inches is a good all-around size for a paper bag, a gift box or a receipt, and the calculator opens at a 3 x 3 inch circle. Presets go from 2 to 6 inches, and a custom size is one click away in the calculator.
Can each member shop add its own logo?
Yes. A member's own sticker is a separate design, ordered as its own line with its own quantity and its own free proof. The association's shared design is not affected.
When should a chamber place the order for the holiday season?
Approve the proof in early November. Orders ship the next business day after approval, and free USPS shipping takes about 3 to 5 business days.
Does the shape have to be a circle?
No. A circle is where this page opens, but any custom shape is cut at the same cost, so a clock tower or a town outline works too. The free proof shows the cut line before anything prints.
Will the stickers hold up on a box that gets handled all day?
Yes. The laminated white vinyl is waterproof, and the adhesive is permanent, so place each one on a clean, dry surface.
Can we use our town's official seal?
Use artwork your association has approved; official marks belong to their owners. We print the file you send.
