A square holds a square logo, a product photo or a QR code without the wasted background a circle or an oval leaves around the same artwork - the corners fill with color instead of empty space. That makes it a common choice for product labels on boxes, cards backing a printed photo, and codes meant to be scanned rather than just seen. If the source artwork is already square or close to it, this shape wastes the least of it.
Sharp corners or rounded - and why it matters
Sharp corners give a crisp, geometric look that suits a logo built on straight lines. Rounded corners soften that same shape and change how the edges hold up in a pocket, a laptop bag or against a doorframe: a rounded corner has no point to catch, where a sharp one does. Both options print on the same laminated vinyl and cost the same at checkout, so the choice comes down to how the design looks with each - most logos with straight edges read fine either way.
