How to get it right
Short enough to read while walking
A student passes a sticker in a second or two, so the message has to survive that. Put the candidate name at the top in large type and the office below it: Vote Maya and Student Council, or Treasurer, or Class President. A single short line, such as a slogan of three or four words, can sit at the bottom. Light type on a solid color, sky blue, school red or navy, stays readable from across a hallway. Photos and long platforms do not read at this size, so leave those for a poster. The proof shows the finished circle, and changes on it are free.
Count backward from election day
Campaign stickers have a fixed shelf life, because they are only useful until the vote. Choose the date you want a pile in your hand, then work back: approve the proof, wait for the next business day when your order ships, and allow USPS 3 to 5 business days across the US, with faster upgrades at checkout. A candidate with a small group of friends handing them out can order a modest run first, and a whole slate can order together, one design per candidate. Each design is its own item in the cart, with its own quantity and its own free proof, so a ticket of four can look like a ticket.
Where they go, and where they do not
Hand-outs, notebooks, water bottles and your own binder are fine places. Lockers, doors and walls belong to the school, so read the election rules, or ask the adviser, before you stick anything to them. The adhesive is permanent, so a sticker that lands on school property may be hard to take off, which is a reason to hand them out and let people choose where they go. Every sticker in a design is identical, so one design cannot carry a different name on each sticker. After election week, an unused stack makes a thank-you for your volunteers.
Questions people ask about these
What should a student council campaign sticker say?
Your name, the office you are running for and one short slogan are enough. Make the name or the slogan the largest word, and leave long promises for a poster.
What size should campaign stickers be?
Three inches round is a good size for a hand-out: big enough to read from arm's length, small enough for a notebook. Preset sizes run from 2 to 6 inches, and the calculator accepts custom sizes.
Can I put campaign stickers on lockers?
Ask your school first. The adhesive is permanent, and lockers are school property, so check the election rules or ask the adviser where stickers may go.
Can a whole slate order different stickers together?
Yes. Each candidate's design is its own item in the cart, with its own quantity and its own free proof. Use matching colors so the slate looks like a team.
How early should I order before election week?
Choose the day you want them in hand and count back: your order ships the next business day after you approve the proof, then USPS takes 3 to 5 business days, with faster upgrades at checkout. For most files the proof appears in seconds.
Are campaign stickers waterproof?
Yes. They are printed on white vinyl under a laminate and are waterproof, so they last through a rainy week of hand-outs.
