How to get it right
Posters are for inside, yard signs are for outside
These are paper posters made for indoor display - a window seen from the street, an office wall, an event backdrop. They are not yard signs: a yard sign has to survive rain for weeks and needs a weatherproof material. Put the poster inside the glass and it does the job for the whole campaign.
What goes on it
The name, the office, and the date people vote - large, and in that order. Supporters' window posters are read from the sidewalk, so one line of message is plenty. The paid-for-by line and anything else your jurisdiction requires is set by election rules we do not interpret; we print the design exactly as you approve it, so settle that wording before the proof.
Running against the calendar
A campaign has one date it cannot move. Production is two business days after proof approval and shipping takes 3-5 business days, so a reorder for the final weeks needs to go in at least ten days before the date it is for.
A stage backdrop for a rally or debate
A rally or a debate night backdrop is read from much farther back than a window poster - the back row of a school auditorium or a rented hall, not the sidewalk outside a supporter's house on a quiet street. Go bigger, 36x48 or, using the calculator's in-between sizing, up to 48x72 for a stage that needs to fill more of the eye line behind the podium. Keep the message down to a name and a short line; a backdrop crowded with paragraphs of policy text disappears at that distance.
Planning around early voting, not just election day
Early voting starts well before election day in most places, and a campaign office or a supporter's window often needs its posters up in time for that earlier date, not only by election day. Work backward from the first day of early voting in your area rather than from election day itself: two business days in production after proof approval, plus 3-5 business days shipping, means the proof should be approved at least ten days before that earlier date if the posters need to be in place and visible when early voting actually begins.
Questions people ask about these
Can these be used as yard signs?
No - they are indoor paper posters. For yard signs you need a weatherproof material. These are for windows, offices and events.
Do you add the paid-for-by disclaimer?
We print your design exactly as approved. Required wording depends on your jurisdiction, and we do not advise on it - include it in the design before the proof.
Can I order a single poster for an event?
Yes. One poster per design, so a single poster for a town hall or a debate night is a normal order.
What size for a supporter's window?
18x24 inches is the usual window size; 24x36 for an office or an event wall.
How fast can a reorder arrive?
Plan a reorder like a first order: two business days in production after proof approval, then free US shipping in 3-5 business days. Reorder the week before a rally, not the day before.
What size works as a stage backdrop for a rally or debate?
36x48 is a common choice, and the calculator can size it up further, to as large as 48x72, for a bigger stage. Keep the text short and bold - a name and a line - since it's read from the back of the room, not up close.
Should posters be ready before early voting starts, not just election day?
In most places, yes - many voters cast ballots before election day itself. Plan the proof approval around the start of early voting in your area rather than the official election date, so the posters are already up and visible in time to matter to those early voters.
