How to get it right
Jars, gift bags and box windows
Clear stickers suit the gifts where the contents are the decoration: a glass jar of cocoa mix or cookie mix with its layers showing around a red "Peppermint Cocoa" label, a clear bag of caramel corn sealed with a small star, a product box with a window and a wreath on the corner. The sticker goes on the outside of the jar or bag, never on the food. With no white paper edge, the design looks printed onto the glass. The vinyl is waterproof and handles the dishwasher, and the adhesive is permanent, so a jar the recipient washes and reuses keeps its label. A small clear star or circle also works as the seal on the flap of a clear bag, where a white paper circle would hide the treats inside.
White ink underneath, or see-through on purpose
By default we print white ink under your colors, which keeps a red bow or green lettering vivid over dark cocoa, a kraft box or a white ribbon. Without that layer, colors turn translucent and take on whatever sits behind them. If you want a true see-through effect, say so in the order notes and we print color only, without the white layer. Decide per design: a lettered jar label wants the white underlay, while a decorative snowflake may look better without it. For a glass ornament, pick the flattest patch and a small shape or a name, because a sticker needs a smooth surface and a strong curve works against it.
Batching a holiday gift list into one order
A gift list rarely needs one sticker for everything. Give each type of gift its own design: a lettered label for the jars, a small star for the bag seals, a wreath for the box corners. Each design is its own item with its own free proof, and the designer prepares the cut line on each. Production takes 2 business days after you approve the proof, then standard US shipping is free at 3 to 5 business days, so approve by about December 9 to be safe. If you are later than that, a faster carrier is available at checkout, and the production time stays the same. Order a few spares of each design, because there is always one more gift on December 23.
Questions people ask about these
Are clear Christmas stickers waterproof?
Yes. They are printed on waterproof clear vinyl with a protective overcoat, and they handle condensation, wiping and the dishwasher. The adhesive is permanent.
Will red lettering disappear on a jar of dark cocoa?
Not by default. White ink prints under your colors, so the lettering stays bold whatever is behind it.
Can I have the colors see-through instead?
Yes. Put it in the order notes and we print color only, without the white layer. You check how the transparency and color look on the free proof before anything prints.
Do clear stickers stick to cellophane gift bags?
Yes, to smooth cellophane and clear plastic bags. Ribbon and fabric are not smooth enough for a lasting bond.
What file should I upload for a clear sticker?
A vector file or a PNG with a transparent background is best. With only a JPG or a phone photo, the designer isolates the artwork for you during the proof.
Can I put a clear sticker on a window for the season?
You can, but the adhesive is permanent, so it is not the choice for something you will take down in January. Static window clings hold with no adhesive and peel off whole; they are a separate product.
