How to get it right
Sizing for a curved cup instead of a flat surface
A cup curves in two directions, so a design that looks right flat can pucker once it's wrapped around glass or plastic. A rectangle or rounded shape around 2x3 inches sits flat on most 12 to 16 oz cups without folding at the edges, while a 2 inch circle, the smallest round size, works on a narrow tumbler. Send us the cup's diameter in your order notes if you're not sure which size will wrap cleanly, and we'll flag it at the proof stage before anything prints.
Keeping color visible against what's inside the cup
A cold drink, ice or a colored smoothie sits directly behind a clear sticker, and without a white layer your design would pick up whatever color is on the other side of the glass or plastic. White ink prints under the colored parts of your design by default, so a logo or a name stays its own color rather than turning the shade of the drink behind it. If you're printing on an opaque cup where none of this matters, or you want the cup's own color to show through part of your design on purpose, note that in your order.
