How to get it right
The small decal on every car sold
The classic dealer decal is small on purpose: a logo and a name, around 4x1.5, placed on the trunk lid or the lower corner of the back glass of every car that leaves the lot. At that size it reads as a mark of where the car came from without competing with the vehicle's own badging. We print it in full color and die cut it to your logo's outline at no extra cost over a plain rectangle, so a rounded wordmark or an icon-plus-text lockup comes out looking like a small badge rather than a sticker with a border.
Printed vinyl, not chrome
This is a flat, full-color decal, printed and then cut to shape. We do not make chrome emblems or raised, three-dimensional badges; if a design calls for that kind of piece, this is not the product for it. What printed vinyl does well is color and detail: multi-color logos, a tagline in small type, a gradient background, all reproduced exactly as designed, then laminated for protection outdoors. Glossy finish gives a badge-style shine on a flat decal; matte is the quieter option. Both cost the same and are chosen when you configure the order.
Ordering at dealer volumes
Five hundred is a common starting run for a single store; price per decal drops as the quantity goes up, and custom quantities above 1000 are available for a busy lot or a group ordering once for several stores. For most files the free proof, with the cut line, appears on screen in seconds, before you pay; a file that needs a designer gets its proof by email, usually within a business day. Changes are free until it is right - useful when a logo needs sign-off from more than one person. White vinyl decals ship the next business day after you approve the proof, so a reorder placed when stock is low does not leave a lot empty-handed for long.
Questions people ask about these
What size is a typical dealer decal?
Around 4x1.5 for a trunk lid or a lower back-glass corner is the common size, which is why this page opens there. Any custom width and height prints at the same quality, so a wider wordmark or a taller icon works just as well.
Can you make a chrome or raised dealer emblem?
No. Everything we print is flat, full-color vinyl, cut to your logo's outline. We do not make chrome emblems or raised, three-dimensional badges - if that is what a project needs, this is not the right product.
Can a car buyer remove the dealer decal?
Yes, though the adhesive is permanent, so removal takes some effort rather than a quick peel: gentle heat loosens the vinyl, and isopropyl alcohol clears the leftover residue. There is no removable-adhesive option.
How many decals can a dealership order at once?
Standard quantities run up to 1000, and a single store usually starts around 500. Custom quantities above 1000 are available for a full lot or a multi-store order - price per decal drops steadily as the quantity rises.
Can each location order its own design?
Yes. A group like Maplewood Auto Group can order a separate design for each store or brand, each with its own free proof and its own quantity.
How long does a dealer decal last outdoors?
Laminated vinyl is built to last up to 5 years outdoors in direct sunlight, rain and snow. The laminate blocks UV fade and keeps the surface from scratching, which matters on a decal that rides on the car every day.
Will I see a proof before I pay?
Yes, for most files. Upload your design and the proof appears on screen in seconds, with the cut line, at the size and shape you chose - before you pay. If a file needs a designer's eye, we email the proof instead, and changes are free until it is right. Nothing prints until you approve it.
