How to get it right
The corner of the glass, the tailgate, the paint
The back window of an SUV or a minivan is the classic spot, in a lower corner clear of the wiper's sweep. Whatever spot you pick on the glass, leave the driver's view alone and read your state's rules first. On White vinyl, the default, the decal goes on the outside of the glass: the adhesive is permanent and made for a clean, dry, smooth surface, so choose the corner before you peel. Smooth paint on a tailgate works too. White vinyl is opaque, so the family reads as a solid piece wherever it sits; on Clear vinyl the glass shows around the figures. Pick a corner where the people behind you can see it. Cut a card to 8 x 4 inches and hold it in that corner first to see the real size. At 8 inches the decal ships flat.
Draw the lineup your way
There is no menu of stock people and no figure builder. The lineup is whatever you draw: a tall dad with a soccer ball, a mom with a guitar case, a kid in a cape, a dog with one floppy ear. Names can sit under the figures or be left out. Keep shapes simple and outlines bold, because at 8 x 4 inches five figures are each about an inch and a half wide. Let the figures touch or stand on one shared ground line. The cut follows the outside edge of the whole group and does not cut out gaps inside it, so a tight lineup makes a clean piece. Check the cut line on the proof.
One piece per car, one design per version
One decal is for one car. A second car, or a set for the grandparents, is another piece, and you can type any count if it is not on the tiles. Each version of the family is its own design: a new baby, a pet that joins or leaves, a changed name. That means a new file and a new free proof, and the old decal stays on the car. No drawing yet? Order first, then use the link we email you to upload the sketch when it is ready. Reunions and team families work the same way: draw the shared lineup once, then order enough for everyone in it. A decal this small ships flat.
Questions people ask about these
Do you have stick figures to choose from?
No. There is no figure builder, no template library and no design tool. You send the drawing, and we print it and cut around it.
Can I send a hand-drawn sketch?
Yes. A phone photo of a pencil sketch works: our designer cleans up the file and sets the cut line for free. The proof that follows is free, and so are changes to it.
What happens when the family grows?
A bigger family is a new drawing, so it goes in as a fresh order and gets its own proof. The decal already on the car is untouched.
Will it come as one piece?
Yes. The cut follows the outside edge of the whole lineup. Let the figures touch, and use the proof to check the cut line.
Does 8 x 4 inches fit my back window?
It fits most, but measure your glass and type the exact width and height. A larger lineup simply needs a larger size.
Can I put it inside the glass?
Yes, as a Static cling: choose it under Material, and it is printed Mirror to sit inside the glass and read from outside. It has no adhesive and needs glass that is not tinted. White vinyl goes on the outside.
