How to get it right
Two doors, one person, no room for a list
A handyman can fix almost anything, and a truck door has room for four lines of it, at most. Pick the three or four jobs people call you for most, such as repairs, painting, doors and decks, and let the phone number do the rest. A long list turns into gray type from the next lane. Put your name on the first line, the jobs on the second and the phone number beside them, as large as the name. Light type on a dark field, or the reverse, carries farther than a busy palette. Set the words on a rounded rectangle if you want a background of their own, or let the cut follow the shape of the logo. Send the file you have; our designer tidies it and sets the cut line free of charge, but does not write slogans or draw logos from a description.
One printed piece, not a door-lettering kit
Much of what comes up for handyman truck decals is door lettering: loose letters on transfer tape, in one color picked from a list. What we make is different: one piece, printed in full color with your own logo, colors and background, and die cut around the design. There are no letters to line up, and we do not make magnets. A hammer-and-wrench mark, a house or a hand-drawn sign keeps its shape and its colors. Use Try your logo on the drawing to see your artwork at 22 x 10 on the van, then try other sizes. One piece can be any exact size, as large as 48 x 80 inches, and the page prices it before you order.
When the work truck is also the family car
Many one-person shops run on a single vehicle: the job in the morning, school pickup in the afternoon. A decal is permanent. Once it is pressed on, it is not meant to be lifted or moved, and we give no assurance about how the paint looks afterward. If that is a worry, start with one door and see how it feels, or put your name on the inside of a window with a static cling, which has no adhesive and can be taken off again. You will find it on our car window clings page. A design for the tailgate or a toolbox is another cart item, uploaded and proofed on its own. Your approval of the free proof starts the clock; the order ships the following business day, and US shipping is free.
Questions people ask about these
How much do handyman truck decals cost?
It depends on size and count. Type them in, read the total on the page, and decide; shipping in the US is free.
What is a good slogan for a handyman service?
A plain line about what you fix usually beats a clever one. A line such as repairs, painting, doors and decks tells a driver why to call. We do not write slogans, so the words on the proof are the words you send.
What are some good decals for a handyman truck?
The ones a driver can read from the next lane: a name, a short list of jobs and a phone number on a solid background, with at most one small mark such as a hammer or a house. We do not offer stock designs; your own artwork is printed in full color and cut to its outline.
How much text fits on a handyman truck door?
Four lines at most, and three read best from a distance. Each extra line makes all the others smaller, so give a website its own piece on the tailgate if you want one.
Can I add my license number or website?
Yes, as part of your design. A license line prints exactly as you write it, and what your state or your customers expect on a work truck is yours to check.
Can I get small stickers with the same logo to hand out?
Yes, but small stickers are a different product, made in runs. Our business card stickers page has them, printed from the same logo.
