How to get it right
Finding the flat panel on the side of a van
Walk the side of the van and find its largest smooth panel. Keep the decal off the gap around a sliding door, off any door seam and handle, and off ribbed lower panels. Apply it to clean, dry, smooth paint; a rib or a gap is not smooth. Hold a tape against the side and compare your measurement with the drawing on this page. If the clear area is short, type a smaller size. Use the same spot on both sides so the van looks planned, not patched. The adhesive is permanent, so there is no second try once the backing is off. This is a decal, not a wrap, and we do not install it.
A logo that reads from the curb
A van is read parked at the curb or passing at street speed. Put the name on the left and the phone number or web address on the right, in heavy letters with strong contrast. A logo with a dog, a wrench or a leaf in it prints in full color, gradients included. Pick the shape to suit the paint. On a dark van, a rounded rectangle with a white ground reads like a small sign. On a white van, a die cut that follows the outline of the logo lets the logo itself stand out. Long logos suit a long panel, and a stacked logo suits a shorter one. Step back from the proof on your screen. If the phone number is hard to read from across the room, make it larger.
Two sides, then more vans
Two pieces cover both sides, cut from the same file. Three vans with the same logo is quantity 6, and you can type any count. Six pieces for three vans is still one design, so you approve one proof. A different size for the rear doors is its own cart item with its own proof. Every design gets a human-checked free proof, and changes on it cost nothing. Approve it, and the decals are printed, laminated and cut within 24 hours, then dispatched the next business day. At this length each decal comes rolled in a sturdy tube. USPS delivers it free with tracking, and faster paid options are listed at checkout. Your logo can arrive as SVG, AI, PDF, JPEG or PNG.
Questions people ask about these
How much does it cost to decal a van?
You pay for your size. Type a width, height and count, and the price for that exact order shows on this page before you buy.
What size van decal do I need?
This page opens at 36 x 18 inches. Check that size against the drawing, then type your own; a single decal can be as large as 48 x 80 inches.
Can I see my logo on a van before I order?
Yes. The drawing shows your decal to scale on a cargo van, and Try your logo places your own artwork on it. The file that prints is the one you upload with your order.
Is this a van wrap?
No. We print decals, not wraps, and we do not install them. Each decal is a single piece that you apply yourself to a flat panel.
Will it stick to ribbed or corrugated panels?
Not reliably, because a rib is not a smooth surface. Keep the decal on a flat panel, away from ribs, seams and handles.
Can I move the decal to another van later?
No. The adhesive is permanent, so each van needs its own set. We do not promise a clean removal.
