How to get it right
Doors, toolbox lids and the smooth panels between
A work truck has a few good flat spots. The lower half of a door, under the window line and clear of the handle and the body crease, is the usual place for a 24 x 12 decal. Toolbox lids and the smooth side walls of a bed-mounted box suit a smaller piece, and they travel to every job. Stay off bumpers, bed liners and grained plastic, because the adhesive is made for a clean, dry, smooth surface. It is also permanent, so it cannot be lifted and moved. Cut a paper rectangle at your size, tape it to the spot and step back before you order. A tailgate is a wide, flat panel and has its own page, tailgate decals.
A name and phone number people can read
Trucks get read from a few car lengths away, so simple wins. Put the business name on one line and the phone number on a second line, in about the same weight. Two or three high-contrast colors carry farther than a busy palette: dark type on a light door, or light type on a solid badge when the truck is dark. Full color means a gradient or a small illustration is fine, and the cut follows the outside of your design, so a badge or a swoosh can be the shape. Use Try your logo on the drawing to preview your design at this size. The file that prints is the one you upload in the order card, and the free proof confirms the size and the cut line. Changes on the proof are free, and nothing prints until you approve it.
One truck, both doors, or a small crew
Quantity 2 covers one truck, a decal on each door, and the second piece prints from the same file as the first. A crew of three trucks is six pieces, and you can type any count that is not on the 1, 2, 3, 5 and 10 tiles. A different design for the tailgate or a toolbox lid goes in the cart as its own item, with that design's file uploaded in its own card. No file yet? Order now and upload later; we email you a link. These 24-inch decals are longer than 15 inches, so they ship rolled in a sturdy tube and arrive crease-free. Approve the proof and the tube goes out the next business day, with free US shipping.
Questions people ask about these
What size decal fits a truck door?
Start from 24 x 12 inches, where this page opens. Tape a paper rectangle to the lower door, then enter your real width and height; one piece can be anything from 1 x 3 up to 48 x 80 inches.
Does a truck decal have to be a rectangle?
No. Choose a die cut that follows the outside of your logo, or a square, circle, rectangle or rounded rectangle.
Is this cut vinyl lettering, or can you print USDOT numbers?
Not letter-by-letter lettering: we print the artwork you send, in full color, as one piece cut around its outside. A USDOT or MC number can be part of that design, or printed on its own rectangle in white or clear vinyl; what your truck must display is yours to check.
Can a shop install my truck decals?
We print and ship the decals and do not install them. You, or a shop you choose, apply them to a clean, dry, smooth surface.
How much do custom truck decals cost?
The price follows your size and count, and the calculator shows it before you pay. You pay for your size, and shipping in the US is free.
Can I move a decal to another truck, or use a magnet?
No. Once it is pressed on, it stays: the adhesive is permanent, so the decal cannot be repositioned or moved to another truck. We do not make magnets, so a sign that has to swap between trucks is not this product.
