How to get it right
For a home, a synagogue, a school or a shop
The same piece of film works differently in each place. On a home window, a blue and white menorah can face the street for the whole holiday. A synagogue or community center might print a notice instead, such as a candle-lighting evening or a community meal, with the menorah beside it. A school can put a cling on a classroom pane, read from inside the room, so it is printed as Normal rather than Mirror. A shop can carry a simple Happy Hanukkah greeting in its window. In every case the artwork is yours: a family drawing, a congregation's own design or a finished illustration, cut as a square, a circle, a rectangle or along its own outline.
Blue, white and the glass behind it
Blue and white is the natural palette, and on a cling it takes one small decision. White ink under a design gives blue shapes a solid background, so they read in daylight. White ink on the clear film with no color behind it puts white shapes and lettering straight on the glass, which looks best against a dim room behind the glass. A menorah drawn as a white outline is the second kind; a filled blue menorah with a white backing is the first. The free proof shows which parts get white ink, and you can say which look you want in the order notes. At 20 inches a single menorah reads clearly from the street; a wide community center door or a shop window can take 27 to 34 inches, and a small classroom pane does well at 12 or 15.
One design for the eight nights, and again next year
Some families like the idea of a design that adds a candle each night. Each version would be its own artwork with its own proof, because a single design cannot be numbered or varied, so most people choose one design for the whole holiday. The dates shift against the calendar every year, so leave them off: a menorah and a greeting will go back up whenever the holiday comes. Peel it off whole and store it flat between sheets of paper in a drawer, with the year written on the top sheet so it is easy to find next December. With the first evening on December 4, mid-November is the safe time to approve the proof; a faster carrier is a paid option at checkout for anyone later.

It begins at sundown on Friday, December 4, and ends after nightfall on Saturday, December 12.
Can I use my own menorah or dreidel artwork?
Yes. Upload your design in any common file type; the cling is cut as a square, circle, rectangle or along your own outline. We do not supply stock designs or draw one for you.
Which side of the glass does it go on?
For a window read from the street, put it on the inside of the glass and choose Mirror, the default. For a classroom or synagogue window read from inside the room, choose Normal.
Can I put it near a real menorah?
Keep candles and any open flame well away from window decorations, a cling included. The film is for decoration only, and we make no claim about heat resistance.
Can we use it again next year?
Yes, if it carries no dates. Lift it off in one piece, store it flat with paper on both sides, and hang it again next Hanukkah on clean glass.
