How to get it right
Two sides per helmet, plus spares
Most teams put the logo on both sides of the shell, so the count starts at two decals for every helmet on the roster. Then add the spares: the call-up who joins in midseason, the decal that gets scuffed over a tournament weekend, and a few for the equipment bin so a replacement is never a rush job. Youth, high school, travel and beer-league teams all order this way before the first practice. If your program runs several age groups, each team's logo is its own design, ordered as its own line with its own quantity and its own free proof.
The logo on one line, the numbers on their own
Keep the team logo as a single design: one wolf head, one wordmark, one outline. Jersey numbers work differently, because every sticker in a run prints the same. A number 4 is one design and a number 17 is another, and each is its own line in the cart with its own quantity and its own free proof. The die cut follows the outline of the logo at the same cost as a plain rectangle, so a howling wolf head costs no more than a block. Bold shapes and two or three colors read best from the far end of the ice.
A clean, dry shell and a steady hand
Glossy laminate matches a glossy helmet shell; choose matte if your shell is matte. The vinyl is waterproof, so sweat and a wiped-down helmet are fine. Before you apply, wipe the shell clean and dry, and work at room temperature. The adhesive is permanent, so line the decal up before you peel the backing. Check your league and helmet maker's guidance on decals first. We print the file you send; use artwork your club or league has approved, because official marks belong to their owners. You see the cut line on the free proof first.
Questions people ask about these
What size should a hockey helmet decal be?
This page opens at 3 x 2 inches, which suits the side of most shells. Measure your helmet first, because vents and edges limit the flat space. Any custom size from 1 x 2 inches up to 48 x 80 inches is available in the calculator.
How many decals should our team order?
Two for every helmet, one for each side, plus spares for new players and for scuffed decals. Larger quantities lower the cost per decal.
Can I order jersey numbers as helmet decals?
Yes - each number is a separate design. Every sticker in a run prints the same, so a 4 and a 17 are two designs, each its own line in the cart with its own quantity and its own free proof.
Should I choose glossy or matte, and how do I put it on?
Match the finish of your helmet shell: glossy on glossy, matte on matte. Both cost the same. Wipe the shell clean and dry, apply at room temperature, and press from the center out. The adhesive is permanent.
Does my league allow helmet decals?
Your league and the helmet maker set those rules, so read their decal guidance before the season starts. We print the artwork you send.
How soon can the decals arrive before the first game?
Upload the logo and, for most files, the proof with its cut line is on screen in seconds; otherwise a designer emails it, usually within a business day. Approve it and the decals ship the next business day, free by USPS anywhere in the US.
