A 24 x 18 inch decal fits the glass beside most clinic entrances or the door itself: the practice name and mark across the top, then the doctors' names, the suite number and one phone number below. White vinyl, the default, is laminated and opaque. It covers the view wherever it sits, so think of it as a solid panel, not a frosted film. Clear vinyl lets the glass show around the lettering. Hours and holiday closures change, so they belong on a separate cling inside the glass. Choose gloss, or matte if the sun hits the pane.

How to get it right

The name, the doctors and the suite number

A new patient looks for three things on the glass: that this is the right practice, that the doctor on the appointment card works here, and which suite to walk to. Set the practice name large, with its mark. Put the doctors' names and credentials beneath in a smaller line, written exactly as each doctor wants them. We print the text you send and do not check it. Add the suite or room number and one phone number, then read each digit on the proof at full size. A 24 x 18 panel holds all of that on a door or on the window beside it. Leave out slogans and service lists, because a short window reads from the parking lot.

White vinyl covers the view; it is not frosted film

White vinyl is opaque. Wherever it sits, people in the waiting room see a plain white back, and nobody outside sees through that spot. That suits a solid panel on a door or on a low window beside the reception desk, but it is not a frosted or privacy film, and we do not make one. If you want the glass to stay visible around your design, choose Clear vinyl under Material. If you need frosted or one-way film, we are not the right source. Rules for signs on a medical building vary, so check your city and the building before you order. We print what you design.

When a doctor joins, and when hours change

Names and hours change more often than the practice name. A permanent decal cannot be edited: when a doctor joins or leaves, a panel that lists names becomes a new order with a new proof. Plan for it. Keep the practice name and mark on one decal and the doctors on a second panel, or move hours and holiday closures onto a Static cling inside the glass, printed Mirror so patients read it correctly from outside. A cling has no adhesive and lifts off. A practice with a second office can print the same file again. Once you approve the proof, a white vinyl panel is on its way the next business day, rolled in a tube.

Questions people ask about these

Can I put doctors' names and credentials on a medical office window decal?

Yes. We print the text you send exactly as written and do not check the wording, so read the proof at full size. When a name changes, the panel that carries it is a new order, so many practices keep the practice name on one decal and the doctors on another.

Can people see through a medical office window decal?

Not through White vinyl, the default: it blocks the view wherever it covers. With Clear vinyl or Static cling the glass shows around the design. White vinyl is not frosted or privacy film, and frosted or one-way film is not something we make.

What is the difference between window clings and window decals?

Decal means glue: it goes on the outside of the glass and stays, which suits the practice name. Cling means no glue: it sits on the inside of protected glass and lifts off, which suits office hours and holiday closures.

What size should a dental or medical office window decal be?

A 24 x 18 inch panel suits a door or the pane beside it. Measure the glass, leave a margin and type the exact size. Vinyl runs to 48 x 80 inches in one piece, and Static cling to 48 x 48.

How do I make sure the phone number and suite number are right?

Read them on the free proof. A person prepares it, and you see it at full size before anything is printed. Corrections on the proof are free, and you pay only after you approve it.

Do I need permission to put a decal on my office window?

Rules differ by city and by building, and a leased suite often has its own. Check your lease and your city's rules first. We print what you design and cannot advise on local rules.
