Which window decal you actually need
Three jobs come to a window. A logo or a name that stays for years wants a printed vinyl decal like this one, on the outside of the glass. A message that changes - a sale, opening hours, a season - wants a static cling, which has no adhesive and comes off clean. A design that should look printed straight on the glass, with the window showing around it, wants clear. Size from the glass, not from the logo
Measure the pane, then decide how much of it the decal should take. On a door, a 12 to 16 inch round or square at eye level reads from the sidewalk and leaves the glass open. On a shop window, a panel two to three feet wide holds a name and a mark. Above 15 inches the decal ships rolled in a tube; up to 15 it ships flat. The drawing on this page shows the size you type next to a person, so the scale is not a guess.
What sits on the glass
The decal is opaque white vinyl, so the print reads clean against anything behind the glass, and from inside you see its plain white back. Cut it to the outline of your logo, or as a circle, square, rectangle or rounded shape - the price is the same. Gloss shows colors deepest; matte throws back less glare on a sunny window. Hours and prices change, so keep them off a permanent decal and put them on a cling instead.

Do window decals go on the inside or the outside of the glass?
