This page opens at 14 x 10 inches, one piece, shown on a shop window beside a 5'9" person. The badge is a little over a foot wide, a size that fits the glass of one entrance door without crowding the handle or the frame. The drawing shows a window rather than a door, so take the scale from it and the exact glass size from your tape measure. Place the badge on the outside at eye level. On White vinyl, the default, the print sits under a laminate, which suits a surface that hands touch and staff wipe every day.

How to get it right

At eye level, above where hands land

An entrance door is one of the most touched pieces of glass in a building. Hands land on the handle, the push bar and the lower panel, so a badge at eye level sits above most of that traffic. Put it on the outside face of the glass, centered in the pane and clear of the frame, so the edges rest on glass and nothing runs across the metal. On white vinyl, the default, the badge is opaque: from inside it shows a plain white back and blocks that patch of the view. If staff watch the street through the door, set the badge to one side of their sight line. Clean the glass and let it dry completely before you press the badge on. White and Clear vinyl hold with a permanent adhesive that gives you no second try, so stand on the sidewalk and judge the spot first.

A badge for the door, not a notice board

A 14 x 10 badge holds a mark and a name, and not much else. Opening hours change, and a permanent decal cannot follow them, so put the hours on a business hours window cling inside the glass and keep the badge for the logo. If you want lettering that lets the view through, choose Clear vinyl under Material: the glass shows around your design, and white ink prints behind the colors. Static cling, the third choice, has no adhesive: it holds to the glass by static, so it can come down and go back up. Clear vinyl is laminated too, Static cling is not, and both ship two business days after approval. White vinyl, the default, is solid. A rounded rectangle gives a door badge a tidy edge, and a circle suits a round logo. The die cut traces only the outer edge of your design, so plan the layout without holes or inner cut-outs. Other sizes are there when the glass needs them: the buttons step through 6, 12, 24, 36 and 48 inch squares, and Other takes the exact width and height you type. On the drawing, "Try your logo" shows how the badge sits in the pane.

One door, a pair, or front and back

A single door takes one badge. A double door can carry a matching pair, one on each half, and a shop with a front and a back entrance may want two. Pick a quantity of 1, 2, 3, 5 or 10 pieces, or type the number you need; the count is copies of the one file you upload. Artwork not finished? Place the order and upload it afterward from the emailed link. At 14 inches on the long side, the decal ships flat rather than rolled. Before the free proof reaches you, someone has checked the size and the cut line. Approve it and a White vinyl order goes out the next business day: printing, laminating and cutting take 24 hours. Allow two business days for Clear vinyl or Static cling. US shipping is free and tracked, and USPS delivers in 3 to 5 business days.

Questions people ask about these

What do you call the stickers on glass doors?

They go by several names: glass door decals, door decals, window decals or glass door stickers. On this page White vinyl and Clear vinyl are the decal kind, with a permanent adhesive. Static cling, the third choice under Material, has no adhesive and holds to the glass by static.

What size decal fits a glass entrance door?

This page opens at 14 x 10 inches for a single door. Measure the clear glass and type the size into Other, then check the fit on the drawing.

Can I see through a glass door decal?

Not through white vinyl, the default: it is solid, hides what is behind it and shows a plain white back from inside. For lettering with the glass showing around it, choose Clear vinyl or Static cling under Material in the calculator, and the proof shows it on clear.

Will it hold up to hands and cleaning?

On White vinyl, the default, the print sits under a protective laminate, and the vinyl is waterproof. Clear vinyl is laminated as well; Static cling has no laminate. We cannot promise anything about particular cleaning products.

My opening hours change. What should I use?

A cling: choose Static cling under Material and set Print to Mirror, or see our business hours window clings. It hangs inside the glass with no adhesive, so new hours are a swap, not a scrape. Keep the decal for your logo.

Can it go on the inside of the glass?

Yes, on Clear vinyl or Static cling with Print set to Mirror: the design is printed reversed, so it reads correctly from outside. White vinyl goes on the outside, because on the inside it would show its plain white back to the street.
