How to get it right
What a New Year's Eve window notice carries
The window sells the night before the menu does. Name the event first, whether a dinner, a countdown party or a champagne toast, then the time it starts, and last how to get in: a reservation line or a QR code to your booking page. If it is a QR code, print it large, because a code that scans easily on a phone screen is often too small to scan from a step back on a window. Gold-colored lettering on a dark background reads well at dusk, when the window is lit and the street is not. Let the greeting be short and give the event the space; nobody stops for a paragraph on the way to dinner.
With the year or without it
A design that says HAPPY NEW YEAR 2027 works for one season only. One that says HAPPY NEW YEAR, or just CHEERS beside a champagne-glass outline, can go back up every December. Decide before you order, because each version is its own artwork with its own proof, and a printed year cannot be changed. A common split for a bar or restaurant is a reusable greeting on the door and a one-off event notice on the pane beside it, so only the notice is printed again next year. Ask whether the cling will still make sense on January 2: a greeting does, a countdown to midnight does not. Store the reusable one flat with paper on both sides, away from the sun, until next December.
The same window after midnight
The night ends at midnight, but the window has two more months of work: a New Year's Day brunch, a January menu, a fresh-start promotion, a sale. Because the film has no adhesive, the changeover is a peel and a mist of water. Take the New Year's Eve cling down whole, lay it flat, and hang the next one in the same spot. Order the January piece in the same cart as the New Year's Eve one and approve both proofs together, so the window changes the morning after rather than a week later. Keep both at the same size, and the swap never leaves a gap or a mismatched edge on the glass.
Questions people ask about these
What size should a New Year's Eve window cling be?
27 inches on the longer side suits a restaurant or bar window, with room for a headline, the event name and a reservation line. A door panel does well at 18 inches, a wide front window can take 34 to 40, and sizes run from 4 to 48 inches.
Can it include a reservation QR code?
Yes. Print the code large and leave clear space around it so a phone can scan it from a short distance; the free proof shows how it looks at print size.
Should I put the year on it?
Only on a design you will use once. Leave the year off a greeting you want to hang again; a printed year cannot be changed, and a new year means a new design.
Can I use one for a January sale as well?
Yes. A cling with no date on it can run through a whole sale and peels off cleanly when the sale ends. A dated event notice belongs to one night.
How does it read from the street?
Put it on the inside of the glass with the default Mirror print and it reads correctly from the street; the proof confirms the side. A notice meant for people inside the room is printed as Normal.
When should I order for New Year's Eve?
The safe date is about December 9 for your approved proof; printing then takes two business days and free shipping 3-5 business days. If the event is confirmed later, a faster carrier is a paid option at checkout.
