How to get it right
A square that fits a photo grid
Three 15x15 prints side by side take up 45 inches of wall before the gaps, so a row of them works above a sofa, along a hallway or over a desk. Printing the same size for every picture keeps the edges lined up, which is what makes a grid look deliberate. Because the shape is square, a series of portraits, album covers, recipe cards or travel shots can share one wall without one of them looking oversized. Start with a single print to see the size on your wall, then order the rest of the set.
From a square post to a square poster
If you design for a square social feed, your artwork is already the right shape. Export it at the highest resolution you have and upload it; a 1:1 file needs no crop. A typical 12-megapixel phone photo cropped square is about 3000 pixels across, roughly 200 DPI at 15 inches, so it will print, but sharper originals look better. For type-based art, a vector PDF, AI or EPS keeps every edge crisp. Our designer checks the file and tells you before the proof if the resolution will show. A square file is also the easiest to judge, because what you see on screen is the whole poster.
Proof, paper and shipping
The proof is free, and changes to the file are free, so you can fix a crop or a color after seeing it; nothing prints until you approve. At 15x15 a raster file of 4500 by 4500 pixels gives 300 DPI at full size. Production takes 2 business days after you approve the proof, then shipping within the US is free and takes 3-5 business days by USPS. At 15 inches this size ships flat, not rolled. The semi-gloss paper is meant for indoor use, or outdoors only in a dry covered spot such as under a roof or behind glass.
Questions people ask about these
Can I order just one 15x15 poster?
Yes. One poster per design is a normal order, with a free proof before printing. The per-piece rate goes down from the second copy of the same design.
What resolution do I need for 15x15?
A vector PDF, AI or EPS is ideal. For a photo or raster file, 4500 by 4500 pixels gives 300 DPI at full size. Lower resolutions still print, just softer, and our designer tells you before the proof if it will show.
Will my square Instagram photo print at 15x15?
The shape is a perfect match, so no crop is needed. Sharpness depends on the original: a phone photo cropped square is around 3000 pixels across, which is roughly 200 DPI at this size. The designer flags it before the proof if it will show.
Can I make a grid of 15x15 posters?
Yes. Order the same size for each picture so the edges line up. Three prints in a row cover 45 inches of wall before the gaps, so measure your space first.
Does a 15x15 poster ship flat?
Yes. Posters up to 15 inches ship flat; larger sizes are rolled in a tube. Shipping within the US is free and takes 3-5 business days by USPS.
What other square sizes can I print?
The calculator has 15x15, 20x20, 24x24 and 36x36 as standard sizes, and custom sizes from 8 inches on the short side. Our square posters page compares them.
