How to get it right
Three different posters
The shower welcome sign is read at the door and needs a name and not much else. The reveal backdrop is the thing everyone photographs, so it has to read in a photo taken from across the room. The birth announcement is a keepsake: name, date, time, weight and length, usually framed in the nursery afterward - and that is where a square size or a standard frame size matters.
A keepsake that survives the frame
Birth announcements end up behind glass for years. Our semi-gloss paper does not fuse to frame glass as humidity changes, so the print can be taken out and reframed later. For the nursery, 16x20 fits a standard frame; for a square design, 20x20.
Timing a shower around a due date
Showers have a date; births do not. For a shower, approve the proof about ten days ahead - production is two business days and shipping 3-5 business days. For a birth announcement there is no hurry: design it once the details are known, and the print arrives 5-7 business days after you approve the proof.
The reveal backdrop has to work in a photo
A gender reveal backdrop has to work as a photograph, not just as a sign on the wall - guests photograph it from across the room the moment the color is revealed, so thin script or pale pastel-on-pastel text disappears in those shots. Go bigger than a welcome sign, 24x36 to 30x40, and keep the reveal color and the key words in strong contrast so they read clearly in a quick phone photo taken from ten feet away in a room that may not be brightly lit.
A sprinkle or sibling reveal is its own event
A second or later baby, a sprinkle instead of a full shower, a sibling-reveal party - each is its own event with its own design, not a smaller version of the first shower's artwork reused with new dates. Print it the same way: one poster per design, a free proof to check names and dates before anything goes to press, and a size that matches the space, typically 18x24 for a sprinkle held at someone's home rather than a rented venue with more room to fill.
Questions people ask about these
What size is best for a baby shower welcome sign?
18x24 inches on an easel is the usual choice.
What size for a birth announcement print?
16x20 fits standard frames; a square design suits 20x20. Both frame directly.
Will it stick to the glass in a frame?
No - the semi-gloss paper is made not to fuse to frame glass.
Can I order a single print?
Yes. One poster per design, with a free proof and unlimited revisions before printing.
How long does it take?
Two business days in production after you approve the proof, then free US shipping in 3-5 business days.
What size backdrop works best for a gender reveal photo moment?
24x36 to 30x40 held on an easel or against a wall gives room for bold color and lettering. Strong, high-contrast colors and larger text read better in the phone photos guests take from across the room than pale colors or thin script would.
Can I order the shower sign now and the birth announcement later, as separate orders?
Yes - they don't need to ship together or even be designed at the same time. Order the shower sign now for the event date, then design and order the birth announcement separately once the baby's actual name, date, weight and length are known.
