How to get it right
Box seals, bag folds and clamshells want different sizes
A cellophane treat bag is sealed by folding the top twice and putting one 2" circle across the fold - larger, and the sticker wrinkles with the bag. A standard white bakery box takes 2" at the front lip or 3" on the lid if the design is the main decoration. A clamshell has almost no flat area on the lid and is normally sealed at the side seam, where a 2" circle spans both halves and a 3" one does not.
Matte on kraft, and why it matters at a market stall
Kraft board and brown paper bags absorb light, which makes glossy ink sit on top of them looking like plastic and makes pale colors disappear. Matte white vinyl reads as printed onto the packaging rather than stuck to it. Matte also takes a fine permanent marker, so one design can serve six flavors: print the bakery name, write the flavor.
What a sticker can say and what belongs on a label
A seal carries the name, the mark and maybe a flavor. Anything that has to be read as information - ingredients, weight, a made-on date, an allergen note - belongs on a proper label with room for small type, and on a roll so a batch can be labeled in one pass. We print what you supply and do not advise on what your state requires you to show; that part is worth checking before the artwork is drawn.
Questions people ask about these
Can I write the flavor on the sticker by hand?
On matte vinyl, yes - a fine permanent marker takes to it without beading and dries in seconds. Glossy will smudge. This is the usual way a small bakery runs one printed design across a changing menu.
Will the sticker hold on a cold box from the display case?
Condensation on the outside of a chilled box is the hardest case, and the honest answer is: apply the sticker to a dry box before it goes in, not to a wet one coming out. The print itself is waterproof and does not run; it is the adhesive that dislikes being asked to grab a wet surface.
Are these food-safe?
We make no food-contact claim about them, so use them on the outside of packaging - the box lid, the bag fold, the clamshell seam - and not on anything that touches food directly.
What size seals a cellophane treat bag?
Two inches. Fold the top of the bag over twice and put the circle across the fold so half sits on each layer. A 3" sticker on the same bag buckles, because there is not that much flat area once the bag is folded.
Can I get clear stickers so the packaging shows through?
Yes. Clear vinyl leaves everything you did not print see-through, so the design looks printed onto the cellophane bag. White ink goes under the design by default, so a light gray logo stays visible; if you want a color-only print that the bag shows through, say so in the order notes.
How long before an order arrives?
White vinyl ships the next business day after you approve the free proof; clear takes two business days in production. US shipping is free and takes 3-5 business days.
Will I see a proof before I pay?
Yes, for most files. Upload your design and the proof appears on screen in seconds, with the cut line, at the size and shape you chose - before you pay. If a file needs a designer's eye, we email the proof instead, and changes are free until it is right. Nothing prints until you approve it.
