How to get it right
Three designs from one crest
Most clubs end up wanting three pieces that look related. The member decal is the 5x5 this page opens at. A meet handout for registration tables and goodie bags does better smaller, around 3x3. A long banner-style version for the glass is a third shape entirely. Each of the three is a separate item with a separate proof and a separate quantity, so a club can order 50 member decals, 200 handouts and a short run of banners without them affecting each other. Match the quantity to the job, members times cars for the decal and expected turnout for the handout, and keep the crest and the colors the same across all three so they read as one club.
A mark that reads in a parking lot
A club decal is seen from a few feet away at a meet and from a few car lengths on the road, so spell the club name out in bold letters, add the chapter city, and give the founding year a small spot of its own. A thin outline ring holds the design together. Two or three colors are easier to read than a rainbow, and a solid background shape keeps light lettering legible on any paint. Send whatever logo file the club has, a vector from a designer or a screenshot a member saved. The designer checks it, fixes it for free, and tells you straight if the resolution is too low to print cleanly at 5x5.
Cruise nights, shows and show cars
A dated design for one event, like the spring cruise-in or the charity show, is its own piece and makes a good handout, since attendees take it home as proof they came. When a sponsor wants a logo on a shared decal, the proof lets the club approve exactly how it looks before printing. For show cars and club officers, a holographic run adds a shimmer that ordinary vinyl does not have; that is a separate product, and the shimmer lives in the film, so it does not appear on the proof. What size is right for a member decal?
5x5 is where this page opens and reads well on a rear quarter glass or a bumper corner. If your crest is wide, type a custom width and height instead.
Can we use a different design for every event?
Yes. An annual event decal or a one-time charity show piece is its own item with a free proof, and it can ride in the same order as the regular club decal.
Can you make a windshield banner?
We can print a long, thin banner-style piece as a custom size, but it is solid white vinyl that hides the glass under it. We do not make see-through banner film. Keep any glass decal out of the driver's line of sight and check your state's rules.
Can each member have their own name on it?
Every different name is a separate design, so this makes sense for a handful of officers, not a whole roster. Most clubs keep the crest identical for everyone.
Is a holographic version possible?
Yes, it is its own product. The shimmer comes from the film, so the proof cannot show it; the holographic bumper stickers page explains the options.
Will it arrive in time for a meet?
Approve the proof and most orders go out the next business day; free standard delivery to any US address then takes 3-5 business days. A tight date calls for one of the paid faster carriers at checkout.
