How to get it right
Lids, sleeves and takeout bags take one size
The three surfaces a cafe brands every day are close enough in scale that one 2" circle covers all of them: centered on a hot-cup lid, sitting on the seam of a kraft sleeve, closing a paper pastry bag. Ordering a single size and a single design for all three is cheaper per sticker than three small runs, and it makes the counter look intentional rather than assembled.
Clear film on a cold cup, white on kraft
On a clear plastic cold cup, a white sticker reads as a white rectangle floating in the drink. Clear vinyl keeps the film around your logo invisible, so the drink shows through everything you did not print and the logo looks applied to the cup itself, while the white ink printed under the logo by default keeps its colors solid against dark coffee. On brown kraft the situation reverses: kraft eats pale ink, and white vinyl in matte is what keeps a logo legible on it.
The window, the espresso machine and the chalkboard frame
Branding inside a cafe is bigger than the cup. Opening hours and a wifi note on the door are cling work - static film comes off clean when the hours change, which adhesive vinyl does not. Equipment marks, crate labels and a logo on the side of a grinder are vinyl at 3" to 6", where the material has to stay put and get wiped down daily.
Questions people ask about these
Will a sticker survive on a hot cup?
On the lid and the sleeve, yes - laminated vinyl handles the heat of a drink through the cup wall and does not lift in steam. We do not put a temperature rating on it, because we have not published one, so keep it on the outside surfaces rather than anywhere it meets liquid directly.
What size fits a 12 oz cup?
Two inches on the lid, two inches on the sleeve. A 12 oz paper cup has roughly 2.5" of flat-looking wall before the taper starts to fight a sticker, so 2" sits flat and 3" starts to lift at the edges on the curve.
Clear or white stickers for cold cups?
Clear. On a transparent cup, white vinyl shows as a solid patch behind the logo; clear vinyl leaves the drink visible around it. Clear prints a white ink layer under the design by default, so even pale colors in your logo stay readable against dark coffee.
Can I use these on coffee bags?
For a seal or a logo on the outside of a bag, yes. If what you need is a product label with the roast, the weight and the date, look at roll labels instead - they come on a roll for fast hand application and in the shapes that suit a bag front.
Do I need a different sticker for the window?
For anything that changes - hours, a seasonal drink, a promotion - use a window cling. It holds by static with no adhesive and comes off without residue. Vinyl stickers are for the things that stay.
How quickly can a cafe get a reorder?
White vinyl ships the next business day after proof approval, with free US shipping and 3-5 business days in transit. Clear and holographic take two business days in production.
Will I see a proof before I pay?
Yes, for most files. Upload your design and the proof appears on screen in seconds, with the cut line, at the size and shape you chose - before you pay. If a file needs a designer's eye, we email the proof instead, and changes are free until it is right. Nothing prints until you approve it.
