Manufacturers publish their own instructions about what may be applied to a shell and where. We print stickers; we do not certify helmets, and nothing on this page is safety advice. Read what came with your hard hat and follow it.
Why these are ordered at 2 inches
A helmet shell curves in every direction. A 2" sticker sits flat on it; a 4" one fights the curve and lifts at the corners. Names, numbers and a compact logo all fit at that size, which is why most crew orders land there.

Custom hard hat decals across different helmet colors
Custom hard hat decals need to work across whatever colors are already on site — white, yellow, orange, and the occasional company-color hat. Because the sticker is die-cut to the outline of your logo rather than left as a square, it sits on a yellow or orange shell without a stray white border framing it. On a white hat that distinction barely shows, but on a colored shell it's the difference between a mark that looks printed on and one that looks stuck on. Funny hard hat stickers and crew slogans, in your own words
A lot of the hard hat stickers on a job site are jokes, nicknames and crew slogans rather than company logos. Both finishes cost the same and both are laminated. Gloss makes colors look deeper and is the usual pick for logos. Matte throws back less glare under sun and work lights, which keeps a name or a number readable from any angle. If the hat already has a few stickers on it, match the finish they have so the shell looks like one set rather than a collection.
Questions people ask about these
Will it stay on a curved shell?
At 2" yes, on a clean dry surface. The bigger the sticker on a tight curve, the more the corners want to lift — that is geometry, not adhesive.
Does it survive being outside all day?
The laminate is the same one we use for outdoor jobs; sun and rain are what it is for.
Can you print certification or rating marks?
No. We print your own artwork — logos, names, numbers. Anything that speaks to a helmet's certification or rating has to come from the manufacturer, not from us.
Do you make reflective hard hat stickers?
We print on white vinyl, not reflective film, so if you're after a sticker that lights up under a flashlight or headlamp at night, this isn't that product. What we do print holds sharp color under a laminate built for sun and rain, which covers company marks, names, and numbers on a helmet shell.
Can each hat on the crew get its own name?

What size should a name sticker on a hard hat be?
A 2" circle fits a short name or initials on the front or back of the shell. For a longer name, a strip about 1" tall and 3" wide sits flat on the side of most hats; type that size into the calculator as a custom size.
