How to get it right
Truck doors are read from forty feet
A pickup door gives you roughly eighteen inches of usable height, and the size you choose should be set by reading distance rather than by the panel. Six inches is the smallest that carries a company name across a parking lot; 12" and larger custom sizes up to 48" are there when the vehicle is the advertising. Order in pairs - both doors - and remember the tailgate is usually the third piece nobody remembers to buy.
Toolboxes, gang boxes and equipment numbering
Smaller sizes do the tracking work. Three to four inches marks a job box, a generator or a compressor with the company name; 2" numbers on a die-cut shape turn a pile of identical tools into an inventory. Powder-coated steel and hard plastic both hold vinyl well once they are wiped with isopropyl alcohol; rusty or flaking surfaces do not hold anything, and no material fixes that.
Hard hats are a different page and a different rule
Crew marks and helmet numbers live on our hard hat page, at the small sizes a helmet shell takes. We make no safety, certification or rating claim about any sticker on any protective equipment - the manufacturer of the hat is the source for what may be applied to it. Everything on this page is about vehicles, boxes and machines.
Questions people ask about these
What size sticker fits a truck door?
Six inches is the working minimum for a company name read at distance, and a pickup door has about eighteen inches of usable height, so 8" to 12" is common. Custom sizes run to 48", which covers most of a panel.
Will it survive a pressure washer and road salt?
Laminated waterproof vinyl holds up to weather, sun and washing for years. Keep a pressure washer off the edges at close range - that is what lifts any vinyl, on any vehicle - and give a freshly applied sticker a day before it meets one.
Can you include our license or DOT number?
We print what is in your file, including any number you need shown. What that number has to say and how large it must be is set by your own regulator, not by us - bring the requirement to the artwork stage.
Can you print safety or certification marks for hard hats?
No. We print your own artwork - company marks, names, numbers - and we make no certification or rating claim about stickers on protective equipment. Anything that speaks to a helmet rating has to come from its manufacturer. Our hard hat page covers crew marks and numbering at the sizes a shell takes.
Matte or glossy for a work vehicle?
Glossy, in most cases - it keeps a logo saturated in direct sun and matches the finish of automotive paint. Matte is the choice if the truck itself is matte or if the graphic is meant to be understated.
Can we order a set for the whole fleet?
Yes, and it is the cheapest way to buy: price per sticker falls steeply as a single quantity rises, so one order for every truck beats one order per truck. Each design is proofed once and printed in the run.
Will I see a proof before I pay?
Yes, for most files. Upload your design and the proof appears on screen in seconds, with the cut line, at the size and shape you chose - before you pay. If a file needs a designer's eye, we email the proof instead, and changes are free until it is right. Nothing prints until you approve it.
