The drawing opens at 40 x 12 inches, shown on a cargo van as a long, low band; order two for the left and right sides of a horse trailer, with the stable name beside a horse head or your brand mark. The van is a size check, not your trailer, so measure the clear panel on the real thing. Set the band on the flat side panel between the seams, and keep it off doors, windows and vents. The horse and the band print in full color as one piece, and the cut can follow the whole design, so a horse head can rise above the band.

How to get it right

Seams, doors, windows and vents on a horse trailer

A horse trailer side is not one clean sheet. Look for the seams between panels, the rows of rivets, the side door, the windows and drop-down openings, and the vents. A living-quarters trailer adds an entry door, an awning and the outline of a slide-out. Anything that spans one of those has no smooth surface to hold. On a stock trailer with slotted sides, only the solid panels count. Pick the widest closed panel, measure it, stay a few inches inside its edges and enter that size. Keep the band away from the fender, the lights and the hitch area. Brush off dust and dried mud, wipe the metal and let it dry. Check the position with strips of painter's tape before you peel any backing, because the adhesive is permanent.

A stable name and a horse people recognize

Put the stable or farm name first, and make it big. A horse head, a horse in profile or your brand mark sits beside it, and the cut line follows the edge of that artwork. Add a phone number or a website only if the band has room, because a long band is read from the road at a distance. Colors that echo the barn and the tack look planned: deep plum, saddle brown or navy, with cream. A photo of your own horse prints in full color, but a bold shape reads better from a truck length back. The rear is a different job. A short message for drivers behind, like Horses on board, please leave room, is a separate design and a separate cart item.

One trailer, the truck that pulls it, a tack trunk

A trailer takes one band per side, cut from a single file. The truck that pulls it is a different job: a piece for its door goes in as a separate cart line, at its own size. A stable with a second trailer types 4. The same artwork at a smaller size can go on a tack trunk lid or any smooth painted panel, and the square buttons start at 6 inches. At 40 inches each band comes rolled inside a sturdy tube, and delivery by USPS within the US is free. Your file gets a free clean-up from the designer, who also sets the cut line. We do not draw a horse from a description, so bring your own art. A file that is still in progress can be uploaded after you order, through the link we email.

Questions people ask about these

How much do horse trailer decals cost?

Enter a size and a count and the page shows the total at once, before you commit to anything. US shipping is free.

Can I get a custom horse decal, not a stock design?

Yes. We print your own artwork, such as a stable name with a horse head, as one full-color piece cut around its outline. We do not offer stock horse designs or a design tool.

Where does a decal go on a horse trailer?

On a smooth, clean, dry, closed panel, away from seams, rivets, doors, windows and vents. Because the adhesive is permanent, settle the position before the backing comes off.

Do you make reflective horse trailer decals?

No. Reflective film is not part of what we make. A message for drivers behind, like Horses on board, can print on a regular full-color decal.

Can the decal go on an aluminum trailer?

Yes, on a smooth panel. Skip ribbed or slotted sections, seams and rivet rows, because the adhesive needs a flat, clean, dry surface.

Can the truck match the trailer?

Yes. Use the same artwork, and add the truck piece to the cart as a separate line at its own size.
