One long name band for each side of an enclosed, utility, horse or concession trailer: the page opens at 48 x 16 inches, drawn to scale on a cargo van, and a trailer takes two. Put the business name, a phone number and a website on the band, and print both pieces from one file. The flat sheet between the rivet lines is the place for it. Bands this long ship rolled in a sturdy tube, so they arrive crease-free, and a layout wider than one piece can hold goes in as panels.

How to get it right

The flat sheet between the rivet lines

An enclosed trailer is built from sheets joined at seams, with rivets or screws along the edges and ribs at set spacing. A decal that crosses a seam or a row of fasteners has nothing flat to hold, so the size that matters is the widest clean rectangle between them. Measure it, take about half an inch off each side, and design to that number. Stay clear of door frames, latches, marker lights and the plate area. Ribbed or textured sheets give the adhesive little to hold, so choose a smooth, flat section, wipe it and let it dry fully. Once the decal is down it stays down, so mark the position with tape first.

Sizing the band, and panels past 80 inches

A 48 x 16 band is three times longer than it is tall, which leaves room for a name, a phone number and a website in a stack. One piece can be up to 48 x 80 inches, such as a tall rear-door panel or a generous stretch of side wall. A layout longer than 80 inches goes in as panels. A 16-foot side is 192 inches, for example, so a full-length band becomes three panels of 64. Each panel goes in the cart as its own item, so plan the split at design time and prepare one file per panel. Put the breaks in empty background or between words, and keep logos and phone numbers away from a joint. Try your logo on the drawing to check the proportions of the band before you order.

Both sides, every type of trailer, and the truck

Set the count to 2 for a pair, one per side, printed from a single file. A food or concession trailer can carry a photo of its best dish beside the name, since full color prints photos and gradients. A horse trailer suits a farm name, a brand mark and a short phone line. A contractor's cargo trailer wants the logo, the services and a website big enough for the next lane. If a pickup tows the trailer, matching decals for the truck are their own cart item, from the truck decals page. Upload your file as a PNG, JPEG, PDF, AI or SVG, or order now and upload it later. Dispatch is the next business day after proof approval, and the tube ships free within the US.

Questions people ask about these

How much does it cost to put decals on a trailer?

You see the total in the calculator before you order, and it moves with your size and count. Delivery within the US is free, tube included.

How big can one trailer decal be?

One piece can be up to 48 x 80 inches, with the shorter side to 48 and the longer side to 80. A wider layout goes in as panels, one cart item for each.

How do I put a large decal on a trailer?

Not through us: we print and ship, and installing is up to you or a shop. Pick a clean, dry, smooth, flat spot and tape the position first, because the adhesive is permanent.

Will it stick over rivets or ribbed panels?

Not reliably. The adhesive is made for a smooth, flat surface, so choose the clear rectangle between the rivet lines.

Can I print a photo or a gradient on it?

Yes. Decals print in full color, so photos, gradients and fine detail all work, and the cut follows the outside of the design.

How does a big decal get to me?

In a sturdy tube, free within the US. USPS takes 3 to 5 business days and gives you tracking, and faster paid options are at checkout.
