Custom Ranch Truck Decals

The drawing opens at 20 x 14 inches, the size for one door of a ranch or farm truck; a truck takes two. That is wide enough for a ranch name on one line and a brand mark beside or above it. Take proportions from the drawing, which is a cargo van, and measure your own door for the size. Printed in full color on opaque white vinyl, each piece is trimmed to the shape of your artwork.

How to get it right

The flat panel above the mud line

Think of the door after a week of work: dust on the sill, mud flung up from the tires, spatter along the bottom edge. The decal belongs higher, on the smooth stretch of door between the window and the splash zone. Stay off the handle, any body crease and textured plastic trim. Mark the top corners with tape so the two doors match. Clean the panel and let the paint dry completely. Dust, mud and damp paint all keep the adhesive from doing its job. Cut a paper template at 20 x 14, hold it against the door, walk back to the gate and judge it before you order. Once the decal touches the paint it stays where it landed.

Ranch name and brand mark, readable from the gate

People read a ranch truck from the fence line and from the gate as it rolls in. Put the ranch name on one line in plain, heavy letters and give the brand mark its own room beside or above it. Thin lines and tiny details in a brand disappear at that distance, so look at the proof from arm's length and ask whether the mark still reads. Keep the palette small: two or three strong colors read farther than a busy mix. The cut follows the outermost edge of your artwork, so a shield, a round badge or the brand's own silhouette can set the outline. Whatever file you send, the designer cleans it up and sets the cutting outline, free. Redrawing a brand from a description is not something we do.

Both doors, the trailer and the gate

Two pieces cover one truck, one file for both doors. A ranch with three trucks types 6. Two trucks today and a third next month is fine, because the third can use the same file. A truck number or a crew name is a different design and gets its own file and proof. Horse trailers are covered on the horse trailer decals page. A matching sign for a gate or a barn door is another piece, with its own proof, and our large stickers page covers that kind of sign. Rough barn wood is out. Look for a gate or door that is smooth, clean and dry. At this size the pair rolls into a tube. Counted from your approval of the proof, it ships the next business day.

Questions people ask about these

What size should ranch truck door decals be?

Doors differ, so measure the smooth part of yours. The drawing opens at 20 x 14 inches; type in the size you measured. Nothing larger than 48 x 80 inches fits in one piece.

What is a ranch truck decal made of?

The vinyl is white, printed in full color and covered with a protective laminate in glossy or matte. It is waterproof; rain and snow run right off.

How do I put a decal on a truck door?

We do not install, so you or a shop will. Clean and dry the panel first, check the position with tape, and remember that the adhesive is permanent.

Is this the same as farm truck door lettering?

No. Lettering kits are individual cut letters. What we make is a single printed piece, in full color, with your brand mark built into the design.

Can you print a USDOT number on my farm truck?

Yes, a number prints like any other part of the artwork. We do not sell number kits or state any rule, so what your truck must display, and how, is yours to check.

Can I order for three trucks and a matching trailer?

Yes. Three trucks are six pieces from one file, and the count is yours to type. The trailer is usually another size or layout, so it is added to the cart as an item of its own and proofed on its own.
