How to get it right
A photo, a name and two dates, on white or clear vinyl
Most memorial decals carry the same three things: a photo, a name, and the two dates that mark a life. We print the design in full color, so a portrait keeps its own colors and tones and is not reduced to a silhouette. On white vinyl, the default, the decal is one solid piece cut around the outer outline of your design: the photo, the wording and the background you draw behind them stay together, and the glass shows around the decal. On clear vinyl the glass shows around the letters and fine lines as well, and white ink is printed behind the colors so the photo stays solid. To get clear, choose Clear vinyl under Material in the calculator, and our designer prepares the proof that way. Either way it is one printed piece. Static cling, the third choice, has no adhesive: printed Mirror, it goes on the inside of glass that is not tinted and reads from outside. We do not make cut vinyl lettering, where each letter is a separate piece of film.
One decal, or one for every car
Start with one. A single decal is a normal order here, and nobody has to buy a pack to get it. When parents, siblings and grandchildren each want one for their own car, raise the quantity: there are tiles for 2, 3, 5 and 10, any other number can be typed, and the price per decal goes down as the count goes up. Every decal in the order is cut from the same approved artwork, so there is one proof to check no matter how many cars it goes on. At 8 x 4 inches the decal ships flat. For a larger piece across a rear window, type the exact width and height, up to 48 x 80 inches (48 x 48 on Static cling), and the second photo frame draws that size to scale.
Checking every letter before it prints
Upload the family's original photo file, not a screenshot of it. A screenshot throws away the resolution a printed decal needs, and a name or a date is the last place to lose sharpness. A real person looks at every file and checks the size and the cut line before the proof. The free proof then shows the name, the dates and the photo exactly as they will print. Changes are free, so check every letter and every number against family records before you approve. Nothing prints until you do.
Questions people ask about these
Can you print a photo on a memorial decal?
Yes. Send the original photo file rather than a copy saved from a phone screen or social media, because the original keeps the most detail. It prints in full color on white vinyl, or on clear vinyl if you choose it.
Can I order just one decal?
Yes. One is the starting quantity on this page. For a decal on every family car, choose 2, 3, 5 or 10 or type another number, and the price per decal goes down as the count goes up.
Is the decal clear or solid?
Your choice. White vinyl is the default: a solid piece cut around the outline of your design, which keeps a photo readable on tinted glass. Clear vinyl is another choice under Material: the glass shows around thin lines and lettering, and white ink is printed behind the colors. Static cling, the third, is clear film with no adhesive. The proof shows how it will look.
Do you design the memorial decal for us?
We print the artwork you send; we do not design it from scratch. A real person checks every file and the cut line before the proof, but the photo, the wording and the layout come from you.
Where should a memorial decal go on the car?
Many families choose the outside of a rear side window or a corner of the back window, where it is easy to see. Keep it out of the wiper's path and the driver's sightline, and check your state's rules. Clean the glass first and press the whole decal down firmly.
Will a memorial decal hold up outdoors?
White vinyl is printed under a protective laminate, and both white and clear vinyl are waterproof and made for outdoor use, including on a vehicle. The adhesive is permanent, so choose the spot once. Static cling is for the inside of the glass: it is not made for rain and wind.
How long does an order take?
A real person checks your file and sends a free proof by email, and changes are free. Once you approve it, a white vinyl decal ships the next business day; allow two business days for clear vinyl or static cling. Free US shipping then takes 3-5 business days.
