No Soliciting Window Decals

A no soliciting decal answers the question at the door before anyone rings. Because the adhesive sits on the film's printed side, it is applied to the room side of the glass panel and reads from the porch. Write the wording yourself, in the colors of the door or the building, and send it as visitors should see it. Mirroring and the white layer under the color are handled for you. The calculator opens on a 5 x 3 inch rectangle, and the free proof shows the result.

How to get it right

Wording that is polite and clear

The tone is yours to choose. NO SOLICITING with a short Thank you is the familiar form. Some households prefer a line that asks for less, such as NO FLYERS, or one that redirects, such as DELIVERIES TO THE SIDE DOOR. An office or an apartment lobby might name a front desk to visit instead. Keep it to two short lines, in capitals, with plenty of space around the letters. A long paragraph on a door will not be read. Since you write the text, check each word on the proof; changes are free until you approve.

Readable from the porch, matched to the door

A visitor reads the decal from a step or two away, so judge the size from where they stand. Five inches wide by three high holds two lines of bold lettering comfortably. Choices run from 2 to 6 inches, and Other covers anything else. Pick colors that suit the door: black or white lettering for a quiet look, a deep green or navy to match the trim. The print sits over white, so even a light color stays visible against the hallway behind the glass. Inside the glass, rain and hands stay clear of it.

A second design for the house number or the family name

A door with glass often has room for more than one message. Many people pair the notice with a house number or a family name, set in the same type so the two belong together. Each is its own design, so order them as separate lines, each with its own proof. Apartment lobbies and shared offices can order one decal per entrance. Check what your lease or association allows on the glass before you apply it, and keep the wording to what you want to say. The calculator opens on a rectangle, and Other lets you switch to a size that suits a narrow sidelight or a wide glass panel.

Questions people ask about these

Can I choose my own wording?

Yes. Write the message you want and send it as visitors should read it. Short wording in capitals reads best. Check every word on the free proof before you approve.

Which side of the door glass does the decal go on?

The inside. The adhesive coats the printed side, so the sticker presses against the glass from indoors and the wording reads through it to visitors outside.

What size works for a front door?

Five inches wide by three high suits two lines of bold wording on a door panel. Other lets you set a taller or wider size for an unusual pane.

Can I order a house number in the same style?

Yes, as a second design with its own proof. Ask for the same type and color so the two decals match. Each design is a separate line in the cart.

Does the decal have any legal force?

We make no claim about that. A decal states your wishes at the door. For questions about local rules on soliciting or on what may be posted, ask your local authority.

How quickly can I get one?

A designer sends the free proof by email, and revisions cost nothing. Printing begins 2 business days after approval. Payment comes once you approve, and USPS delivery is free; checkout offers quicker options.
