Roofing Truck Decals

The page opens on a band 36 x 12 inches, sized against a cargo van; a pair gives one long band for each side of a roofing crew's truck. A crew truck sits at the curb for as long as a roof takes, so the band is read from across the street. Three feet by one foot gives a company name and a phone number room to run in a line. The drawing shows a van, so check the band against your own door or bed side before you order. Pick the plain rectangle shape so the band keeps straight, clean ends.

How to get it right

A truck that stays at the curb for days

Roofing trucks do not drive past; they park. A re-roof can hold a pickup and a dump trailer at one curb for days, and the neighbors watch from the porch. That decides where the decal goes: on the side that faces the street. A full-size pickup has a long, flat bed side, and a 36-inch band often sits there more easily than on a crew-cab door, where the handle and the crease take space. Measure the clean rectangle, take a little off each end, and type that size. Stay above the wheel arch and the rocker panel, where road spray and gravel land. On a dump trailer, use a flat side panel between its ribs. Wash off dust and roofing grit first. Permanent adhesive means one placement.

Setting a band that reads across the street

A band three times as wide as it is tall wants one line of big letters. Put the company name at the left or the center, the phone number at the right, and one small roof-line mark if you have one. The phone number is the part people copy down, so give it real size. Contrast does the work at that distance: dark letters on a white field, or cream on deep brown, slate or green. Full color also prints a photo or a gradient, but across a street a bold logo reads best. A plain rectangle gives straight ends, a rounded rectangle softens them, and a die cut traces the logo itself. Use Try your logo on the drawing to see the proportions, then check the free proof.

The same file for the next truck

Think in trucks first. Each pickup wears a pair of bands, so a crew with three trucks is six pieces. The dump trailer takes a different size, so give it a cart item and a file of its own. After a hail season, when extra crews and trucks join, upload the same file again for the new trucks. A decal here is a flat printed piece. It is not a truck wrap, a magnet or a set of cut letters. At 36 inches the band comes in a sturdy tube, so it arrives without creases. Approve the proof and it goes out the next business day, free within the US. The quantity tiles cover 1, 2, 3, 5 and 10, and any other count can be typed in.

Questions people ask about these

What should a roofing truck decal say?

Your business name, a phone number to call and one short line about the work, such as repairs or replacements. A slogan is optional, and shorter reads farther. We print the words exactly as you send them.

Do you make roofing truck wraps?

No. The decals here are flat printed pieces for doors, bed sides and trailer panels, and we do not make wraps.

Will a 36 x 12 band fit a crew-cab door?

It depends on the truck. The handle and the body crease take part of a door, so measure the clean rectangle on yours. A bed side is often longer and flatter.

Can I use the same decal on a dump trailer?

Yes, from the same file. A trailer panel is usually larger, so enter its own size and add it as a separate item. A single piece can go up to 48 x 80 inches.

Can I reorder the same decal later?

Yes. Keep your artwork file and upload it again; each new order gets its own free proof. That helps when a busy season adds trucks.

Will it stick to a truck that is dusty from the job?

Not well. Dust and grit sit between the vinyl and the paint, so wash the panel and let it dry before you press the decal on.
