How to get it right
A price list on glass dates faster than anything else you print
Service menus move: a new treatment comes in, a stylist raises a rate, a package is retired. Print that on permanent vinyl and every change is a scraping job, which is why so many salon windows carry a price list that quietly went out of date two seasons ago. The salon name or logo that stays for years is the opposite case: that belongs on permanent vinyl, and our storefront window decals are made for it. Cling removes the cost of being current. Peel, replace, done, and the glass underneath is exactly as it was.
Leased glass, and why nothing adhesive is worth the argument
Most salons rent. A lease that says nothing about signage still leaves you responsible for the state of the glass when you hand it back, and adhesive vinyl on a large window is a real removal bill. Static cling has no adhesive at all - it comes off in one piece and leaves nothing behind, so the question never comes up. It is also why a salon that moves can take the window display along and put it back up on the new glass.
Frosted privacy panels and where cling does not work
One thing worth knowing before ordering: static cling wants smooth, genuinely clean glass. It holds beautifully there and unreliably everywhere else. Frosted, etched, textured and sandblasted panels do not give static enough to grip, and no amount of pressing fixes that because there is nothing sticky to press. If your privacy panel is frosted, the print goes on a clear pane beside it, or it goes on vinyl instead.
Questions people ask about these
Is a window decal the same thing as a window cling?
Not quite, and the difference is the adhesive. A decal is vinyl with glue on the back and is meant to stay; a cling is static film with no glue at all and is meant to come off. What we print here is the cling, which is the right choice for anything that changes - prices, services, hours, seasonal promotions.
Will it damage the window or leave marks?
No. There is no adhesive to leave anything behind, so the glass is the same after as before. That is the main reason salons in leased premises choose this over vinyl.
Can I put it back up after taking it down?
Yes. Store it flat between two sheets of paper, keep it out of direct sun, and it goes back on clean glass later. A promotion that runs every spring can be the same physical cling every year.
What size fits a standard salon window?
A service list read from the sidewalk works at 18" to 24" on the longer side. A full-height panel on a door goes to 36" or 48". Sizes run 4" to 48" and can be circle, square, rectangle or cut to your own outline, so a logo does not have to sit in a box.
Does it work on a frosted or textured pane?
No, and this is worth checking before you order. Static needs smooth, non-porous, clean glass. Frosted, etched and textured surfaces do not hold it reliably. For those, order vinyl stickers instead.
How long does an order take?
Two business days in production after you approve the free proof, then free US shipping taking 3-5 business days.
