Semi Truck Door Decals

This page starts at 24 x 18 inches; a cab takes two, a decal for each door of a semi tractor. The van in the drawing is far smaller than a tractor, so read it as a rough scale check and measure your own door. Twenty-four by eighteen leaves room for a company name, a hometown and a small mark that the next lane can read. Put each piece on the painted door skin under the window, clear of the grab bar and the handle. The whole decal prints in color and is trimmed around your artwork.

How to get it right

What goes on a cab door, and what the rules decide

Plan the door around three things: the company name, the home city and whatever numbers your operation has to show. If your design includes a USDOT or MC number, it prints exactly as you typed it. Whatever rules apply to those numbers are yours to check, because our part is printing what you send. Number kits and letter-by-letter lettering are not on our list. We print one full-color piece, die cut along the shape of your design, so a logo, the name and the hometown can sit together on one decal. A mark with a shape of its own, such as a mountain or a bird, can set that outline. Lead with the name and put the city under it. Give the numbers a line of their own so they are easy to find on the proof.

Door skin, grab bars and the curve of the cab

A tractor door is not a flat sheet. There is a window above, a handle and grab bar, a step below, mirror arms in front and a body crease or two. The decal needs a smooth, clean, dry painted area, so find the widest stretch of door skin below the window and between those. Measure that stretch, allow a margin all around it and type the exact size under Other. Curved fenders, round fuel tanks, chrome and textured trim are poor places for a flat piece, so leave them alone. A sleeper panel behind the door may give you a flatter and larger area, and the 48 x 80 inch limit leaves plenty of room. Tape a paper outline in place and check how it reads from the ground and from the driver's seat.

Two doors, two tractors, and the trailer behind

Two pieces cover one tractor, a decal on each door, printed from a single file. Two tractors make 4; type whatever count you need. The trailer behind is a different size and layout, so its piece is a second cart line with its own upload and proof. A unit number on each door is a different design for every truck, so each number is its own line too. Owner-operators trade trucks, and the adhesive is permanent. A decal stays on the truck it was pressed on, and we cannot promise it comes off cleanly, so plan to print the next tractor's pair from the same file. At 24 inches each piece ships rolled in a tube, and shipping inside the US costs nothing.

Questions people ask about these

What decals are required on a semi truck?

The agencies that regulate your operation are the ones to ask, and we do not advise on it. Anything you add, including a USDOT or MC number, prints as you send it, and the rules stay yours to check.

What size are semi truck door decals?

Doors differ, so measure yours. This page starts at 24 x 18 inches; Other takes the width and height you type in, with 1 x 3 as the smallest piece and 48 x 80 as the largest.

Where can I buy door decals for my tractor?

Order them here. Pick the size and upload your file; a real person looks at your size and your cut line before sending a free proof. Production starts only after you sign off on it, and edits to the proof are free.

Are these cut vinyl letters or number kits?

No. Number kits and letter-by-letter vinyl are not what we make. Your door decal is one printed piece, with the cut running around your artwork.

Can I move the decals to my next truck?

No. Once pressed on, the permanent adhesive keeps a decal on that truck, so a new tractor gets a new pair.

Is there room for a decal on the sleeper or the trailer?

Yes, on a smooth painted panel. Each different size or layout gets its own cart line, file and proof, and the 48 x 80 limit applies to every piece.
