How to get it right
Lay the week out so it reads in two seconds
People glance at hours, so make the glance easy. Group days that share times: Mon-Fri, then Saturday, then Sunday. Write CLOSED in full for a day off rather than leaving it out. Use AM and PM consistently, put the time range on the same line as the day, and size the type so it reads at the door. Add the phone number below the hours and a QR code that leads to an online hours page, so holiday changes can be posted there without a new decal. Your logo goes at the top, small enough that the hours remain the largest thing on the decal.
Read the times as a customer would
The proof is the place to catch a wrong digit, and a wrong digit on a door is expensive in missed customers. Read each day aloud against your calendar or your schedule, then ask someone else to read it. Check that morning and evening are not swapped, that the last day of the range is the right one, and that the phone number is correct. A side door or a back entrance might need its own decal with the same hours. That goes in the cart as another line with its own proof, using the same design if the text is identical.
Decal or cling for your hours
Hours that stay put are the natural job for a decal. It sits behind the glass in full color and keeps its place, with nothing to peel off the door as the seasons change. Hours that change often, or only for a season or a holiday, do better as a cling, which has no adhesive and can come down. Our business hours window clings and holiday hours window clings are made for that. Many shops use both: a decal for the regular week, a cling on top of the glass for the exceptions.
Questions people ask about these
What should a store hours decal include?
The days and times, grouped where they match, with CLOSED for days off. Many shops add the phone number, the logo and a QR code to an online hours page. The proof shows the full layout before printing.
What size works for a door?
A 6 x 8 inch rectangle fits a week of hours with room for a logo and phone number. Sizes run from 2 to 6 inches, and Other accepts a size you choose, which is how the 6 x 8 inch shape here is set.
Will it read correctly from outside?
Yes. Send the artwork as a passer-by should read it. We flip it for the inside of the glass, and the free proof shows the result for you to check.
What if my hours change?
Use a decal for hours that stay and a cling for hours that change, since a cling has no adhesive and can come down. A QR code to an online page also lets you update times without printing again.
Can I order the same hours for a second door?
Yes. Add the second decal to the cart as its own line. If the text and size are identical it uses the same design, and each line gets its own proof.
How soon will the decal be ready?
The free proof arrives first, and changes to the times cost nothing. Printing follows 2 business days after approval. You pay once you approve, and USPS delivery is free, with faster choices at checkout.
