How to get it right
Cab doors, the chip box and the bucket truck body
The cab door is the flattest, most dependable panel on a tree truck, so begin there. Place it beneath the window and well away from the door gap, the mirror arm and the latch. A chip box often has tall side panels with room for something much bigger. One piece tops out at 48 x 80 inches, and if the box has ribs or stake pockets you stay on the flat stretch between them. A bucket truck's body is busier. Compartment doors, latches, hinge lines and the base of the boom all interrupt the surface, so look for an open panel. Sap, resin and sawdust are part of the job, and none of them helps a permanent adhesive. Wash the panel, wipe off any sap and let the metal dry before the decal goes down. We do not install, so your crew or a shop you trust has to put it on.
What a homeowner reads while the chipper runs
Whoever is deciding whether to call you gives the truck a few seconds. Make the company name large, set the phone number beside it or under it at a similar weight, and add one short line, such as Removal, Trimming, Stump Grinding. Leave out the paragraph. A tree or leaf mark helps people place the truck again, and the cut can follow its outer edge, so the crown of a tree can set the outline. The cut runs along the outside only, so gaps inside the artwork are left uncut. Forest green and cream read well on a white cab, and white with orange on a dark one. A contractor license number can be part of your text and prints exactly as typed. What your state or county expects beside it is yours to check.
A pair for each cab, a bigger piece for the chip box
One truck needs a pair, a decal on each cab door, and the two pieces print from the same file. The chip box is a different job. Its piece is bigger and carries other artwork, so it gets a cart line to itself, and a crew number or a second phone line is handled the same way. A chipper on a trailer has its own page, trailer decals. Three trucks sharing one design make 6 pieces, which is not one of the tiles, so you type it in. When the longer side is over 15 inches, a decal is rolled and sent in a sturdy tube, and this one is 26. Delivery is free within the US and comes with tracking. A truck added later is a new order from the same file. If the artwork is still being drawn, place the order and send the file later through the link in our email.
Questions people ask about these
What do decals for a tree service truck cost?
The calculator shows the price of your exact size and count before you pay. Orders ship free within the US.
Can I order a single decal for one truck door?
Yes. Large decals start at one piece, so one door, one chip box panel or a test piece is a normal order. Tap the 1 tile or type the count you need.
Will it peel off a dusty or sappy truck?
A permanent adhesive needs a clean, dry panel to grip, and dust, sap and resin give it little to hold. Wash and dry the panel first.
Can a chip truck or bucket truck have a bigger decal?
Yes. Any exact size works, from a 1 x 3 strip to a 48 x 80 panel, and a bigger piece for the box is its own cart item. The van on the drawing is only a size reference, so size the piece to the panel on your own truck.
Is this a wrap, a magnet or vinyl lettering?
None of them. Ours is a single printed piece, trimmed to follow the outline of your artwork. Wraps, magnetic signs and cut vinyl lettering are not things we make.
Can the decal show my contractor license number?
Yes, type it into the artwork like any other line. We cannot check it against any rules, so confirm what is required before you approve the proof.
