How to get it right
White on clear is what makes it look like writing, not a sticker
The difference between a mirror cling that looks made and one that looks stuck on is the background. Printed in white ink, only the letters and the artwork carry color and the film itself reads as glass, so the words sit on the mirror rather than on a rectangle. A die cut that follows the outline of the lettering takes it further still - there is no edge to find at all.
Where a mirror cling beats vinyl
Adhesive vinyl on a mirror is permanent by intent: taking it off means heat, solvent and patience, and a mirror scratches if you get impatient. A cling has no adhesive at all. It comes off in one piece and goes back on later, which is the whole point on a rented apartment mirror, a salon station, a gym wall or anything seasonal. Nothing to scrape, nothing to clean off.
Sizes, shapes and the room the words need
Sizes run from 4" to 48" on the longer side, as a circle, square, rectangle or a die cut that follows the outline of your own artwork. On a mirror the usual mistake is going too small: a line of lettering needs the width of the mirror to look deliberate rather than lost. Measure the flat face of the glass, take off a hand width for margin, and order to that number.
Questions people ask about these
Will it stick to a mirror as well as to a window?
Better, in practice. Static cling needs smooth, non-porous, clean glass, and a mirror is all three by definition. It holds without adhesive and comes away in one piece.
Can I get white lettering with no background?
Yes - printed in white ink, so only the letters read and the film itself is invisible against the glass. This is the option for any text on a mirror.
Will it damage the mirror or leave residue?
No. There is no adhesive on it, so there is nothing to leave behind and nothing to scrape. The mirror is the same after as before.
Can I take it off and put it back?
Yes. Store it flat between two sheets of paper, out of direct sun, and it goes back onto clean glass later. Seasonal or event artwork can be the same physical piece every time.
What size should a mirror cling be?
Measure the flat face of the mirror and take off a hand width each side for margin. A bathroom or salon mirror usually lands between 18" and 24"; a full-length mirror goes to 36" or 48". Sizes run from 4" to 48".
How do I apply it without bubbles?
Clean the mirror first, mist it with plain water rather than glass cleaner, place the cling while the glass is still wet so it slides into position, then smooth from the center outward with a soft squeegee. Once the water dries it holds on its own.
Can you lay out the text for me?
Yes. Write the wording in "Add a note" on the calculator - opening hours, a booking line, a quote - and our designer sets it in white lettering and emails a proof before anything prints. A logo goes in as a PNG, JPEG, PDF, AI or SVG upload.
