How to get it right
A permanent decal on the car you also live in
Plan on it staying for good, because the adhesive is permanent. On a work van that is fine. On the car you take to family dinners, think before you press it down, and if the car is leased, ask the leasing company first. What the paint looks like under or after a decal is not something we can promise. On glass you can keep your options open. A static cling goes on the inside of a window with no adhesive, which suits glass that must change later. It is made for glass only, and it has its own page, our car window clings page. Put a decal on the door of the car that works for you, and a cling on the window of the car that is also the family car.
What a new client reads from the driveway
A client meeting you for the first time sees your car before they see you. Keep the design to your logo, one line about what you do and one way to reach you. Say the small trust things in your own words, such as Family owned or your first name, because we print exactly what you send. A sparkle or a bucket reads at a distance, and a thin script does not. Light artwork suits a dark car and dark artwork a light one. Hold the phone at arm's length when you review the proof. If you cannot read it from across the room, it will not read from the curb. A QR code for booking needs a wide plain margin, and our QR code car decals page covers it.
Door or rear window, and one for every helper
A door decal sits on a painted panel. If the front door has too many creases, a rear door or the rear quarter panel is often flatter. Keep clear of the handle, the fuel door and the seams. Tape a paper cutout the size of the decal to the panel and look from the curb and across the street. On the rear window, the decal is pressed onto the outside of the glass, and whatever it covers is blocked from view. From inside, the decal shows only a plain white back. Place it away from the driver's sightline, and check your state's rules before you do. Our rear window decals page covers long, thin sizes. Two pieces cover one car. If your helpers drive their own cars, type the total and everyone gets the same design. A 16 x 10 decal ships in a tube.
Questions people ask about these
Is a permanent decal a good idea on my personal car?
It is made to stay, so it suits a car you plan to keep as a work car. Glass is the exception: a static cling goes inside the window with no adhesive.
Can I put a decal on the rear window?
Yes. It is pressed onto the outer face of the glass, and solid white vinyl blocks the view wherever it covers, so keep it clear of the driver's sightline and check your state's rules.
Can my helpers use the same decal on their cars?
Yes. Type the total number of pieces and every one comes from the same design and the same proof. A helper's own phone number would make it a different design.
Will a decal damage my car's paint?
We make no promise about your paint. The adhesive is made to stay, so a decal is a one-time placement. If the car is leased, or you want no risk to the paint, a static cling on the glass is the no-adhesive option.
Can I add my website or a QR code?
Yes, but each addition makes the rest smaller. One contact line is easiest to read from a driveway. For a QR code, test the scan on the free proof before you sign off.
Can I get a smaller matching sticker for my supplies?
Yes, but that is a different product. Our small business stickers page has matching stickers in runs, printed from the same logo, for a supply tote or a thank-you card.
