How to get it right
One name for two seasons
Pick a mark that says both. A flame and a snowflake can sit side by side, or one neutral shape can sit beside the words Heating and Cooling. Set the company name as the largest line, the service words second, and one way to reach you third. A phone number or a web address works, but not both, because the third line is the one people copy down. A fall furnace tune-up and a spring air-conditioning check are different messages, so treat them as two files and check two proofs. The adhesive is permanent, so keep the main decal on the van evergreen. A seasonal offer can ride on a smaller separate decal, or on a static cling inside a window, which has no adhesive.
Counting panels on a service van
Count the panels first. A service van usually takes a decal on each side and one on the back, which makes three. A pickup takes two. Then measure the flat part of each side, because cargo van panels have body lines and handles that a large decal should not cross, and type that width and height into the calculator. On a truck with a ladder rack or a service body, keep the decal on the flat panel and off the ribs. One piece can run up to 48 x 80, so a big rear panel is not a problem. Decals over 15 inches on the longer side roll into a sturdy tube, so they arrive crease-free. A new technician's truck next season is one more of the same design.
A small sticker for the unit you just serviced
The quiet half of vehicle advertising is the equipment you leave behind. After a tune-up or a new unit goes in, a small sticker with your company name and phone number goes on a cabinet panel or the side of the unit, so the next call goes to you instead of to a search page. That sticker is a smaller design, often 2 or 3 inches, made as a custom sticker rather than a large decal. Our business card stickers page covers it. We make no claim about heat, so choose a spot away from flues and warm exhaust. Ask the owner first, because the adhesive is permanent. A QR code to your booking page can ride on it. Scan the code from the proof before you approve it.
Questions people ask about these
What size decal fits a van or truck door?
This page opens at 20 x 12 inches, which suits the flat part of many van and pickup doors. Panels vary, so measure the flat area clear of the handle and body lines. For another size, type the exact width and height, up to 48 x 80.
Can each season have its own message?
Yes. A fall furnace line and a spring cooling line are two designs, and each comes with its own free proof. The adhesive is permanent, so choose which one goes on the van for good.
Can I move a decal from one van to another?
No. Once it is pressed on, the adhesive stays, and the decal cannot be lifted and set down again. A magnetic sign is the usual answer for a sign that changes vehicles, and we do not make magnets.
How many decals do I need for a fleet?
Count three per van: two sides and the back. Type the total or pick a quantity tile, and one design means one proof for every van.
Can the same artwork go on a small sticker for equipment?
Yes. A small sticker is a separate product, so order it from our business card stickers page with the same artwork.
Do you put the decals on the van?
No. We print the decals and ship them, and you or a local shop puts them on. Wash the panel and let it dry first, since the adhesive needs a clean, dry, smooth surface.
