This page opens at 18 x 12 inches, drawn on a cargo van. Most plumbing vans take three: a decal on each front door and one across the rear doors, all one design. Eighteen by twelve is about the space a logo, a phone number and one service line need. Your design prints in full color on laminated white vinyl and is cut along its outline. Measure the flat part of your own door, type the exact size, and the drawing shows it to scale. The free proof shows every digit of your phone number at real size.

How to get it right

What earns a place on a plumbing van door

People read a service vehicle in the time it takes to pass it. Give the phone number the most room, the company name second, and one line about the work third: drains, water heaters, repipes. Add an emergency line only if you really answer that phone at night. A license line is your own text. We print it exactly as you write it, and what it has to say is for you and your state to check. A web address or a small QR code earns a spot only if the door is roomy, and our QR code car decals page has the margin rules. Leave off the tagline, the founding date and the badges. A cluttered door reads worse than a plain one from across a street.

Both front doors and the rear, as a set of three

A work van or pickup door has a flat area between the body creases, the handle and the seams. Measure that space, leave a margin all around, and type the exact width and height. Eighteen by twelve is a starting point, not a rule. Use the same file on both front doors so the words read left to right on each side. The rear doors often want something simpler, such as the logo and the phone number. That is a second design, so it gets a second proof. A set of three covers one van, and a pickup with no rear decal needs two. A shop with four vans types 12, and one design means one proof. Bigger vans can take bigger pieces, up to 48 x 80. An 18 x 12 decal rolls into a sturdy tube, so it arrives crease-free.

Small stickers that follow the job

The same logo works small. Put it on toolboxes and parts bins. Leave a business-card-size sticker with your number on the utility room wall, after asking the owner, because the adhesive is permanent. Those small stickers are a separate product made in runs, and our business card stickers page covers them. We make no claim about heat, so keep a sticker off the hot surfaces of a water heater. On the truck, we print your design in full color and cut it to its outline. We do not make cut vinyl lettering, and we do not make reflective film. If your truck must display regulated numbers, the rules are yours to check. We print what you design.

Questions people ask about these

What size should a plumbing truck door decal be?

Start with 18 x 12 inches, which suits many van and pickup doors. Measure the flat area on your own door, clear of the handle and seams, and type that size into the calculator. Anything up to 48 x 80 prints as one piece.

Can I put my license number on the decal?

Yes, as part of the text you send. We print it exactly as written and cannot check it, so check the wording and the rules for your state.

How many decals do I need for one van?

Three covers a van: one on each front door and one across the rear doors. A pickup with no rear decal needs two. For a fleet, type any count or pick a quantity tile.

Do you make cut vinyl lettering or truck registration numbers?

No. We print your design in full color and cut it to the outline of the artwork. Regulated numbers, and the rules for them, are yours to check.

Do you put the decal on the van for me?

No. We print it, roll it into a tube and ship it. You or a local shop puts it on a clean, dry, smooth panel.

Can I take the decal off if I sell the truck?

The adhesive is permanent. It is not removable or repositionable, and we cannot say how the panel will look afterward. For a truck you will sell soon, think about that before you order.
