How to get it right
What a window code is for
The window works when the shop is closed: order online, book an appointment, see today's menu, join the list for a restock, apply for a job. Pick one job per code and say it in a few words above it - Shop online 24/7, Book now, Menu - because a code with no line next to it gets walked past. Tick Add a free dynamic QR code and paste your link, and when the offer or the season changes you change where the code leads in My QR codes - the cling stays on the glass.
Sizing for the sidewalk
A code scans from about ten times its width. A 6-inch code reads from about five feet, a 10-inch code from about eight; on this cling the code can take most of the piece with your line and logo around it. Glass adds glare, so go a size up from what the math says and place the code at chest height, away from the spot where the afternoon sun hits the window.
Inside the glass, and off again
Mirror print is the default on our clings: the design is printed reversed so that, applied to the inside of the glass, it reads correctly from outside - and the QR code is printed reversed with it, on white, so it scans the right way from the street. Static cling has no adhesive, so the code is safe from weather and from anyone peeling it off, and when the window display changes it lifts off in one piece and can be stored on its backing. Static cling is not made for an exposed outside surface; on the inside of a window it is in its element.
Questions people ask about these
Will a QR code scan through the window glass?
Yes, a clean pane is not a problem for a phone camera. Glare is, so size the code generously, keep it dark on the white panel and place it out of direct sun.
Why is it printed mirrored?
So it can go on the inside of the glass and read the right way from the street - protected from rain and from people peeling it off.
Do you make the QR code?
Yes, free. Tick Add a free dynamic QR code and paste your link; on a Mirror cling the code is printed reversed with the design, on white, so it reads and scans the right way from the street. You can also bring your own code in the design.
Can I order just one?
Yes. Clings start at one piece, from 4 to 48 inches on the longer side.
Can it go on the outside of the window?
Only on glass that is fully sheltered. Static cling is not weather-resistant, so for an exposed outside surface choose a permanent window decal instead.
When do I pay?
After you approve the proof. A designer emails it within 1 business day; at checkout your card or PayPal is only held, and you are charged when you approve.
